These princesses are honestly the best. For my 6th birthday my mum had Cinderella come to our house, and my family was also planning a vacation to Disney the following spring. I had asked her "Cinderella, I'll be going to Disney in a few months! Will I see you there?" And she replied "Yes but you'll have to remind me where we met because I go to a lot of little girl's birthday parties." When I got to Florida I asked the Cinderella at Disney "Cinderella do you remember me? You came to my birthday party." And she simply replied "Oh yes! And what a lovely party it was!" Without even a blink

That lawyer mom knew exactly what she was doing and it was dirtyyyy. Invited more kids than agreed upon, put on a fake mad/ displeased customer persona, and probably told her kids they can do whatever they want bc mommy is in charge. All this to probably try to get a free party essentially, then had the nerve to finish the act by suing them for emotional damage?? Okay lady, you're disgusting. Customers like this drive me crazy, they really have no concern for human decency and think they're bein slick.
@admiringchristina4 жыл бұрын
Yeah! She knew what she was doing especially when she started singing 'When will I get my check back?" in the tune of a song. Then she decided to invite two times the amount of kids unexpectedly. And she just had to have a bad attitude, she spoiled her kids, did her kids seriously just spit in the party performers face? If I did that to anybody I know I would get slapped 50 times! Just because she's a lawyer doesn't mean that she necessarily has more power, meaning that she can't power over somebody by her having a bad attitude. She was the one with the bad remarks and high expectations, and you're right, she did have the nerve to finish the act by suing them for emotional damage. There was no emotional damage done, at least the business won the argument in court, but still, it wasn't fair, there was no emotional damage done and like you said she probably just wanted some free party supplies. This behavior disgusts me, it's honestly very annoying, I feel so bad for all the party planners that go do this daily because believe it or not, there are people that do go do this at least once a week. Shake my head. Such a sad sad sad news Edit: Thanks for the likes! It's just y personal belief!!

I used to work at a children's museum and having dealt with so many kids parties, and entertainers, and parents...hands down, the parents are the worst. Occasionally you get some horrible children, but usually not far behind is their horrible parents. I don't know what it is but they expect you to be their slaves and often demand things not on contract and then want refunds. I was listening to that one story, like this woman actually sued you??? Like took time out of her day and using her money to sue party princesses....like that shows you how absolutely little is going on in that ladies life. YOU KNOW she's going to see this and then sue again for emotional distress at having to hear the story as not told by her about how it "really went down." LOL
@PoochieCollins4 жыл бұрын
That story is also a lesson not to reward people for being a-holes (in this case refunding the money). Refund the money if there's a good reason to, but not just b/c someone was a b*tch.
@Banyo__4 жыл бұрын
@@PoochieCollins If anything, that also undermines your staff because you're basically saying you agree with the fact that she said they did a horrible job and didn't do what they were supposed to do. I do get it though given this day and age of bad internet reviews. Clients have a TON of power. I know with my organization if we ever got a bad review, and it was verified, it usually led to someone being fired shortly after because that's all people see....100 good reviews, but that ONE bad one and people don't book you. It's a no win situation, but I'm glad their team eventually triumphed in the end because she sounded exactly like some of the nutcases I encountered as a supervisor.

@@Banyo__ : the princess actor implicated that her manager was nice to them about it in private, but wanted to minimize the chance that birthday momzilla would give them more trouble.... which didn't happen. @judestout98384 жыл бұрын
Often times, it’s not worth trying to fight the parents for money. If they say they weren’t satisfied and they make a fuss like that mom, we generally just give in-they pay a deposit generally (usually at least 50%) and don’t get it back even if they’re unsatisfied. A lot of parents actually go in thinking they can complain their way out of paying-in this situation, it was a lot easier to do what they did

Who do you think teaches kids to feel entitled?
@Leechykeen4 жыл бұрын
ugh. that one makes me think of these two obviously wealthy families i waited on that were dining together. while i was in the kitchen downstairs their children left an enormous mess everywhere and did permanent damage to the carpet by taking out the janitorial equipment and roughly handling it as toys. came up to see one of the children had taken out the expensive cook/janitor's vaccuum and broken it, while i almost tripped on running babies while carrying hot plates MANY times. later i found some of the children's poop had been left behind on the toilet seat and bowl. came back up after they'd sat for hours and both parties didn't even tip 20%. they weren't even mean people, they certainly at least paid with compliments, and working in restaurants you certainly get used to seeing much, much worse and even genuinely malicious things, but what felt so bizarre and alien to me was that they just kept acting like it was all happening to and inconveniencing THEM instead of the people left cleaning, while not bothering to do anything real or truly corrective with them. i just feel bad for the kids, they were still at an innocent age but they will grow up to be so oblivious and spoiled, with perhaps no idea or understanding of how difficult they are being on others. perhaps their parents were the same. i meeeeean u cant steam on these things for too long bc they happen but i guess im just saying...if you can't parent well on a 1-1 parent-child ratio, at least slip the cleaning staff a 20, damn LOL

I used to do this too and I once got locked in a closet by four little girls who then locked the door to their room to muffle my yelling. Forty minutes later, their mom came in and asked where I'd gone and they said I had left. Of course, I had a protocol for leaving (handing my business card out, making sure the birthday girl was content, etc) and so she knew I hadn't left yet. Finally she gets into the room and hears me banging on the door and yelling. Mom opens the door and starts apologizing profusely, I'm just laughing and saying "at least I was shut in this time!" (I was the Snow Princess aka Anna)

Oh my GOSH this resonated w me so much especially the Ariel story. I’ve been a party princess for five years and I’ve got tons of stories but I can’t tell you how many times the kids would be absolute brats and would obviously be pulling on me, pushing me, throwing things at me because they’d think it was funny and the parents would just laugh along with them and even encourage the behavior!! A lot of times it’s like the parents don’t think of you as human because you’re in a costume. It’s so messed up. But I will say the company I work for doesn’t do contracts or anything because my boss would always let us leave a situation like any of these described and would always back us up against a customer who was being exceptionally rude. It’s WILD to me that those companies potentially didn’t have that policy for these performers? Hopefully the reason they stayed was out of the kindness of their hearts or whatever but wow if any of those things happened to me I’d leave immediately and I wouldn’t work for a company that made me stay after any of those stories tbh!!! Guess I’m not as nice of a princess as these ladies!!!
@Mariamk19954 жыл бұрын
Wow this brings back memories! I used to play the “Frog Princess.” Though I never had a party this bad. The parents were usually always so grateful and the kids were always beyond sweet! However I only played Tiana so I didn’t have nearly as many gigs as the white performers, because they could play multiple characters while I could only play Tiana. Most of my parties were for black families and they were hecka lit. Like huge birthday parties to celebrate their ONE YEAR OLD. It was like going to a family reunion. Djs and massive cakes. It’s such a unique job. Technically you’re an outsider, because you don’t know anyone there. but for maybe an hour or two you get to come into this special and intimate moment amongst a group of family/friends/classmates/community members and get to be a part of it. I was lowkey treated like a star! I was always so honored and always had a great time, even when there were hiccups and sometime terrified birthday girls who stayed away from me and the other performers the whole party lol. Makes me want to do it again. Had to stop for school cause I needed my weekends to study. Thank y’all for sharing your stories, lovelies!! ❤️❤️

I learned so much about customer service when working in Canada and the US and bring a lot of that experience into my work back here in Germany. But there's one thing I won't have: bowing down to shitbags like lawyer lady. Everyone can have a bad day and sometimes an extra dose of kindness and care can turn things around. I've had some of my nicest moments with customers who were incredibly grateful for being met with a friendly attitude when they were just pissed off for whatever reason. But if that won't do the trick, nope, you're not gonna disrespect me, my coworkers or the work we do for no good reason. Basic human decency is not optional.

If you think you'd like to do it, ask if you could watch one of their other princesses at work. I bet you COULD do it you know. Kids...especially little kids are so easy to work with because if you're in a princess outfit, they just think everything you do is magical...I used to be a party princess and I'm shy and quiet. I just used to speak quietly and say the same things at every party and had worked out what worked best. The kids always loved me. Watching a few might help you.

If it makes you feel any better-I have severe social anxiety and I was an active princess for about four years! I’m on a break right now because I moved but I plan on starting up soon. If I were you, I’d wait a little till you’re more comfortable, but maybe tag along on events as a handler or fairy godmother/lady in waiting to see what it’s about! It’s really rewarding, and sometimes difficult, but it’s very magical and allows you to be someone new for a few hours!

I'm 15 and I worked as moana for a short time, ask if you watch another kids party first to see how they interact (it'll feel awkward following someone dressed as a princess of course but you get a good idea of what to do) incorporate your personality into the princess it makes it seem more real and helps awnser nosy kids questions lol. You'll do great and remember if they ask you to sing make them sing along (God knows we wont sound like the Disney singers but we can only hope lol)

This is how I view it. If you are playing Anna ask yourself: Is Anna the kind of girl to be introverted and shy? No! You are no longer you. You become the character. That's what I learned. Also for the most part the parents don't even know your first name. So it's very mysterious job for people on the outside. I say give it a try! You will probably get out of your shell. After doing this job I became more confident and knew how to express myself better.
