I don't know. I like in Mumbai, and I'd know where to get that stuff pretty easily. Chantel's gifts were really personal and thoughtful! Cultural exchange isn't just like, yay now I can get firangi makeup or whatever, it's about ideas and perspectives and tastes, yes? But at the same time there are different people out there and one person might think you should spend money on gifts while another thinks it's the thought that counts and doesn't like expensive ones. I myself don't like expensive gifts. I put a lot of thought into it, but spending large amounts of money to me does not equal good gifts. You have to buy gifts FOR the person. I think they both did good. If I were to receive spicy stuff, the bag, the face mask (I'm vegan and it's more than likely not), I would not be as thrilled as she was and would not find those things fitting for me. They both clearly did (apart from the sunglasses which seemed scary to her, but she then got to realize that they actually look really good on her and everyone liked them). Edit: whether or not the gifts were good is a different question, but I don't think money needs to be a part of it.

Honestly. I was disappointed just looking at the comparisons of them shopping. While to show Indian culture she went down the actual streets and to nice specialty shops, Chantal just went to the equivalent on Kohls and got everything in what I assume was less than 2 hours and 2 stores. She wasn't thinking about showing the culture of LA, or what someone else would want. Instead Chantel just grabbed what she would have wanted or would have usually gotten. So cheap and flexible day to day stuff that she probably spotted on those random isles at literally any store. Seriously, that challenge was lame too. It was just a cop out to say "I don't know your size and I already got the sunglasses so...."
