Why are some words in French considered the male version, and others the female version? Aren't they both the same?

in french, some words have a dinstinction berween male and female, so when tou write, you know if you talk about a boy or a girl. If you have a "e", it's female. ("elle est désolée" / "il est désolé". "Il est pris" / " elle est prise") also sorry my english is not very good ^^'

The pronunciations are too fast! You really need to slow it down for anyone of us to understand. I have to drop the playback speed in order to understand the flow but then its worse.

Relax guysss, she actually speaks slower than most french people, Trust me, I've watched KZbinrs, streamers speaking French reallll fassttt... French is a fast speaking language, you gotta get used to it.
