I really appreciate your intelligent, no nonsense response to the question about spiritual teachers’ misbehavior. It’s surprising how much we can idealize, romanticize, be awed by, etc., other human beings- from spiritual teachers to celebrities of all kinds-rather than realizing everyone, without exception, is fallible.

I had that conflict between being liked and establishing boundaries, too. And then I decided not to accept being taken for granted by the people I care for. So ,slmetimes you have to be very firm and tell them what you like and what you don't. Even if you have to yell at them and you risk that they will not like you. And,guess what? After 2,3 times you stand firm, they will back off...and they will respect you.

Boundaries versus love/compassion/caring = problem for women in society because we have been raised to believe that loving another means putting their needs before ours. We are all equal, and setting boundaries happens effortlessly when this is remembered. My happiness is no more nor LESS important than another's. So, easy solution is to ask-- what would be loving to myself in this situation? The answer will never be "letting someone take advantage".

Listening to the question on boundaries vs love i 100% agree with CW's response and was reflecting that the problem in the question had to do with the misunderstanding of love vs wanting to be liked by the other. IMO When one truly loves, one acts in authentic truth regardless of whether the other's personality will like it. For instance, if your child wants ice cream 15 minutes before dinner, it would not be loving to give them ice cream and then they didn't eat dinner. Even though they may not like it it is the most loving action to say "no". Also to allow another to override your appropriate boundaries is never loving. It perpetuates their bad behavior and deprives them of receiving the most precious gift of your truth. That would be codependent behavior rather than love. So love always is compatible with maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Hello Hareesh. The more I develop awareness of awareness itself, the more I experience it like a warm, loving embrace. It’s a felt, almost motherly sense of presence. Is it likely a projection of my conditioning or has it been traditionally expressed that way by other meditators ? I tend to be skeptical, or at least very careful in interpreting my own spiritual experiences as it is such a subtle realm that can easily be colored by the mind.

It has indeed been traditionally expressed that way!

Appreciate the videos. On choice of gurus...some so called spiritual masters can use dark arts and control mechanism that can do severe harm to the seeker (dark entities transmissable by touch, look or inappropriate mantra or other means). Some do this for money, power or worse ends. There is an awareness in India of this that we in the west are a little more niave. A true guru is rare but even rarer is a true disciple with discrimination...as the saying goes.

@christopherwallis751 Hi, you mentioned a Tibetan Buddhist expert named Kurt in this video but I didn't catch his full name. It would be very interesting to hear an overview of Vajrayana & Nyingma, Bon & Dzogchen as related to Kashmir Shaivism. Especially discussing Mahakala & Mahamudra. Thank you. Jai guru 😊 🍎🙏🏼🙇🏼♀️🌻🫖🍵 (Also is there a way to email you?I have a scroll /painting I wanted to ask you about. Thank you. )
