Hopefully my beloved country will have a system like singapore one day. SAR-21 counters the problems of the M16S1(Singapore M16A1) only. Compared to the later M16A3 and M16A4, SAR-21 is... meh. I've tried it already overseas and personally I love the M16A3 the best. After all, I grew up with many M16s by my side since birth. Of course I'm going to be biased here and say that I'll pick the M16A3 but since I have tried the SAR-21 too, it's a really beautiful machine. I'd take the SAR-21 over a Steyr Aug any day.

***** I know but old is gold. I have tried the TAR-21 not too long ago. My friends at the firing range got a pair at a low price so they immediately called me there for a try out. It's AMAZING. Words can't describe how much I like it. I will ask my friends to find an MTAR. I will let you know how I feel about it. Thank you for your suggestion. :)

It's myopic to define a gun as better just on rounds per minute basis. Guns are chosen because of situational reasons. If you have served in the force you would know how much ammunition you are given. There's a reason for sustained rate of firing which they would have taught you. Even if you are gonna carry 1050 rounds for your famas, are you going to fight for one minute and then use a knife for the rest of the battle?

No, the SAR 21 isnt better for the SAF because of its rpm. Its RPM is low dude, 450 to 650 is LOW. It's chosen due to it simply being shorter which on paper would translate to better movements during CQB. Its recoil is also lesser than M16. M16 strong point is durability n lesser jams.
