Right? We keep it at 69-71 degrees(it varies because I live in Michigan and it can be 40 one day and 70 the next), Sometimes 69 is too cold but usually 70-71 is perfect.

68 is fine. If you're sittin' around, wear a sweatshirt, toss a throw on your lap. If u get up and move around, you'll be very cozy at 68 degrees. Do the dishes, sweep the floor...

MAN_ON_WHEELZ Depends on where you live. Here in Portugal for example 24-25C (almost 78F) is the ideal and normal temp and we start sweating when it's more like 30C+ (86F aprox.). In the hottest days of summer it's usually from 36C to 42C (97F to 108F), but in the winter it never snows except in high altitude areas where temperatures are always lower ofc, everywhere else it's usually 8-10C (47-50F) minumum. Whether people feel cold or hot it depends a lot on their metabolism and what temperatures they're used to. This is about air temperature... 'Cause when it comes to water temperature it looks like it's the same thing in every country... Women like to bathe in cooking temperature water but we men can't do that because of parts pf the body we have that are exposed and they don't enjoy getting cooked... XD

This show is filmed in Chicago, IL. The natural gas utility for Chicago and most of Northern IL (where I grew up) is Northern Illinois Gas, now known as Nicor. I've seen a Nicor bill when you keep a house at a "balmy 78" during the winter. If she wants it a "balmy 78" she can pay the "balmy $450" natural gas bill.

Jeannette Marie I Dad pretty much the same way. He lives in Chicago and during the winter when I was young, it would be -10 outside and I be cold as hell! He would tell me, “just sleep with a sweatshirt and hat on. And he be walking around the house with shorts and a T-shirt. During the summer, he rarely turned the air on too. It could be humid hot, and I be uncomfortable sleeping to the point when I wake up, my shirt be wet like I jumped in the swimming pool.

My uncle in law, at the time, was cheap as hell! Him and my aunt damn near owned a Mansion (In Memphis) and it was like visiting Siberia every time I went to spend the night... I seriously had to cover up with 3 blankets and my aunt would bring this little floor heater that she kept in the kitchen to TRY and keep me warm. The sad reality is, she had this little heater blasting at full force while she cooked... And you would think the heat from the stove & burners would've been enough :/ Prolly why she left him.

And probably didn't realize , that most the time them little electronic heaters ( not all of them) Cost nearly as much to run as heating up the house with gas central heating. However I guess that depends on size of the house ect However at least by putting gas central heating that covers the whole house, at least every one can get warm by it. And if you not using every room , just turn some off. But using that tiny electronic heater it's just one person. Anyway , I am just saying. No expert at all. Just purely chatting. God bless

I live with my bf now, and i truly miss cooling off rather than being constantly too cold. I HATE having to dress in layers. I prefer barefoot and long t-shirt on a lazy day. Or singlet and skirt. Now in 70 degrees, im in thick socks, tights, headband, wrist warmers, warm sweater. Add a blanket if still too cold. I’m suffering man...

You can feel the heat coming off his body from 3 ft. away. So, he likes it cold so he can cool off. Yet, he takes the hottest showers!! He uses only hot water. Our hot water temp. is 180 and the man doesn't cool it off much if any. There's so much steam in the bathroom when he comes out it's like a sauna! It's not always the bill problem. My husband just likes when it's cold (cold in my standards). He hates when it's hot. It's just that simple. I wear a hoodie while watching tv when it's 78F at home.

It has nothing to do with the bill, actually it's more expensive keeping it cold. Air conditioning is more expensive than heating. But I still prefer putting the air conditioner at 60F. I love the cold, hate the heat, even though I'm from a warm climate country.
