Great video, thanks Matt! I do have 3 moxy monitors and I use 1 all the time. Still getting my head around it as data changes from workout to workout and also if the Moxy moves a bit, the reading changes significantly. From your experience, do you notice an increase of SMO2 after a couple of hours training? I have noticed that sometimes on the bike, I will start the warm up at 40%, it will increase to 65-70% and then will drop back to 35-50% depending on the intensity, during the main part of the workout. However if I am doing a long ride it can go up to 65-70% after 2h of steady zone 2. I wonder if that is due to the sensor moving slightly or there is some.other reason for the increase at steady constant power output? I would be interested to learn about how you use ThB for warm up. Thanks Antoni- Age group athlete/ data geek 😅😅😅

Nice review Matt! Do you have the impression that you will be able to train more precisely in zones than by finding the zones using lactate and VO2 max test? Will one be able to find one's zones e.g. in garmin connect using this sensor or do you have to use the graphs to find out on your own

The concept of static "zones" is pretty outdated in general. This device can allow you to know exactly where you are on the day. One day might be very different than the next. You can use lactate and vo2 max tests to find your "zones" for that day...but there are a number of factors that will cause those numbers to shift one way or another during a build. So this can allow you to know exactly where you are at on the day rather than hoping you are the same as you were the last time you tested and set your zones...

@@MattHansonTri First of all thank you for the feedback. That is that actually a very good point, do you use Moxy for all you're workouts and if so what software do you use to track your fitness?

No, sometimes it is important to shut off from numbers and enjoy the session. I typically only use this for intervals.

How might this differ than measuring blood lactate during a threshold workout for example?

I think I covered this pretty well in the video, did you have a question about it that I didn’t cover?

Interesting tech. The metric athletes can measure in the field really is exploding at the moment

It is, the key is having the ability to use the data...otherwise it is all for nothing.
