Such a revelation to witness such clarity on the subject matter. Watched this 11-9-2020 on a day that I was wrestling with the meaning of Mathew 16:19. This commenter has often mis-used that verse to close the door on issues that seemed dead. Just as god hardened pharaohs heart so to will he soften the hearts of others. One never knows how/from whom his word will be revealed but I thank you for your message brethren.

Caution! Too many words, may dampen the truth, that Simon's reply are not of Simons but revealed to him from the Father! And that which, Made Simon blessed, and that which, Jesus renamed him Peter (or Rock)! And the rock "upon which Jesus Build his Church"; may not be any person, But a principle, that is of Faith, or else, personified in Jesus, in this episode!

Can you please answer this question if you can I have asked so many pastors but thay want answer me back I don't understand why I'm not trying to put God down I'm just seeking the truth my question is if God gives us free will then why if someone chooses not to believe in him thay get punished with HELL for eternity I don't understand that if God is merciful and loving I really would appreciate your insight thank you hope you have a good day

If I can be of any help, there may be some flaws as to what we perceive as free will. I can see you crossing the road with your eyes closed and tell you that you are going to get ran over, you are free to listen or not, I am not forcing you to go back to the sidewalk. But if you get ran over, you will have brought this upon yourself by not listening to me. So the free will that God gives us is based on the fact that he is not compelling us to do the right thing, but he warns us about what happens if we do the wrong thing. As for your question about hell I must say that eternal punishment in the fire of hell is not biblical but that is another topic. Finally, why would those who did good but did not believe in him be deprived of eternal life ? The answer is also based on free will. In their lives they did not manifest their desire to follow him so he cannot force them, when they die, to follow him. Our choices are to be made on earth, according to the Bible "Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave,[a] there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom." Ecclesiastes 9:10
