Most people don't understand how expiry dates work. The date of expiration doesn't mean that the food just MAGICALLY expires on the spot on that very day. When you're driving and there's an obstruction or cliff or something ahead...you see the sign at least 5 minutes before you come across it. Same thing with food. The expiration date just tells you that it's going to get bad SOON but not YET.
