Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

@@ifilmalways7122respectfully, as a genuine question, since you cannot prove anything to others, how do you validate it for yourself? And if everything is based on faith and not evidence(ik you’d consider the Bible as evidence, I’m going off of what you said that you cannot prove anything to people outside the faith), which I have no problem with, would you then admit there is a possibility that you might be wrong in your interpretation about some things, even small, insignificant things? How would you reconcile that?

@@NinPossible Thats the point, if Cliff ever got angry they would just dismiss what he says. They want you to get mad, that way they can dismiss what you are saying as the ramblings of some angry guy thats no better than them. At the end of the day, all of these people are hurting. When people hurt for long enough, they figure the best way to stop hurting is to lash out. You cannot get mad back, because they just reinforces the cycle of hurting them. I have so much respect for Cliff for not getting mad at that hippie guy who was INCREDIBLY rude and condescending.

@@Max012As a former atheist who met Jesus 😭 😭 I appreciate how Cliffe uses reason and logic (even tho he is a pastor) rather than saying, "it's spiritual, just believe" -- a lot of people are approaching this topic mentally, and spiritual perspectives don't click as much. He uses intellectual and respective conversation to get people thinking (students) for themselves! Love it!!

The translation argument is often stated as a game of telephone tag. My neighbor is bilingual. She speaks English and Spanish. When she is on the phone to speaks Spanish with her relatives. I don't know what she is saying while I am over to her house. But when she hangs up the telephone, she explains what she was saying in English. She may have to use a different word going from one language to another, but it doesn't affect at all the message. So it was with Aramaic and Greek in the New Testament.

Because they also believe in God. There are bad, good, evil, great people in this world. It is your decision what you going to decide in your life. But with experience I can truly say the spirit in me, because I love God, is my connection with Jesus. He talks to me. He has helped me true all my pain. He took that away. All sins He took away. I ask Him. Then in the Bible He said to me. I have forgiven all your sins. I am so different because now I know the truth. I now know why, where, who, how. I now understand all.

It must always be factored in that God has made Himself known to the consciousness of every person, as in Ro.1:18 and following. Now that He does that, every person is subject to Judgment, they're even judged already, Jn.3:18-21. Fallen man suppresses this innate knowledge of God. Fallen man, in Ro.2, condemns himself by doing the things himself that he condemns others for doing. It's always amazing to me to hear what devises fallen man has conjured up to counter the witness of the Living God within him. I, too, was once as guilty.

Hippy man with the sunglasses was so insecure he couldn’t even use basic common courtesy in his speech. Only bullies call people PAL when they’re having a disagreement. As soon as people start insulting they’ve lost the argument in my book. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly people’s demons get activated whenever someone is talking about Jesus in public. I follow several street preachers on KZbin and no matter how polite and reasonable and non-intrusive they are when sharing the gospel atheists will still be compelled to turn into kindergartners when they hear Christ’s name. Oh well, every atheist knows they’re right until the very end of their life.

These students ask some very good questions like How can you prove that the Christian God is the true one. I have to say that my answer would be God testifies of Himself in His Word the Holy Bible. The Bible is our authority, not empirical evidence. Evidence can be re-interpreted or dismissed by a non-believer if they don't want to be convinced. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen ((Hebrews 11). God Himself has SPOKEN IN HIS WORD and APPEARED on earth in the Person of Jesus Christ! Jesus said: Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father (John 14:9) Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the WORD OF GOD (Romans 10:17)

@ilurkintheshadows, I'm not completely sure what you're asking, but here goes... You can become a Christian not by doing good things. You can only become a Christian by believing that Jesus died for your failures (sin) and that he rose again to give you new live. Check out Romans 10:9-11. A lot of the book of James is about what real faith looks like. The more that a believer looks at Jesus, the more it should inspire them to follow his example. This is what Jesus meant when he talked about bearing fruit. God is pleased when people do good things, inspired by faith, but good works cannot in themselves save you, nor can it improve your 'standing' with God. You can't earn that. If you become a Christian and live for the next 50 years as one, on your dying day, you will not be any more justified in God's eyes, than the day you first believed on Jesus.

It amazes me how people say, we have books and studies and eyewitnesses that we refer to to verify historically what's true. Yet when christians point to the bible that's made up of all of the same throughout 66 individual books combined into one called the bible, they say awe no I reject that! So, would it be better to separate all 66 books for you to accept them as all of what you say you have as proof and evidence because separating them won't change the content! People reject the truth because they are blind. Anyone who can walk out into nature and see the order, design and beauty of it and then deny that God exists is truly blind!

@@criticalthinker8007 I guess I saw two different sets of clips. I think he reacted the same way any sane human being responds. I saw, in this video, one woman being very hostile toward Cliffe. She wasn't asking Cliffe a question, she was being accusatory and defamatory without reason. The man after her kept insisting that Cliffe couldn't "prove" God, therefore God didn't exist. What Cliffe was arguing in response is that "proof" is a field of epistemology (he never says that word), and is not the most accurate word we should use when talking about matters of belief. If we use the word "proof," we're already on the wrong feet when we get to talk about evidences: "probable," "possible," and "plausible." When Christians and atheists argue philosophically over the debate, we're arguing over plausibility, since proof means "it means this, and it cannot mean any other thing." I've never met an atheist who could *prove* to me there was no God, because to *prove* means they have excluded all other options, i.e. it cannot be in any other way. I have heard arguments for atheism that are possible and probable, but in terms of plausibility, I find the existence of an intelligent mind far more plausible than the idea that order and design came from chaos.

I used to be as cocky as that young fellow in the sunglasses. Now, I'm a born-again believer in Christ! Being a skeptic is ok as long as you listen to and consider the other side of the argument. Anyone who reads the Gospels with an open mind must confess that they are anything but a fairy tale. God despises blind faith but encourages seekers of Truth.

hey horse, a great book to read (ive studied the bible for 36 years) is Dr. Hugh Ross, IMPROBABLE PLANET - he is the #1 astrophysicist in the world today, a former atheist who took college classes at the age of 12. His discovery of the complexities that make up this universe - pretty much prove the existence of an intelligent mind. Or Dr. Collins Head of National Institute for Health and his discovery of the gnome factor that shows computer data written code in the DNA of evey human, AMAZING - and great to use when these people say "prove it" well if they believe in science - how about some of the greatest scientists? Also, it amazes me how these people say, what about buddha? when they dont even know who he was or his practice. sir shahidma gothama (buddha) never said there was a god, nor looked for one, and the last week of his life he said again he did not know if there was a god, buddhism is a practice of life, but these college type kids "what about buddha" - put him in a place of god and DONT EVEN KNOW who he was. - Knowledge is power keep growing - especially in the word. God bless you.
