I was an atheist up until I turned 44. Bad mouthed Christians and lived a life of drinking and sex with whoever I wanted to. Then I became a follower of Christ after going to visit my Christian friend, although she hadn't told me she was a Christian when we became friends. Since then, I've seen God work in my life, give me a peace that I've always wanted and have prayers answered. He really does change your life and your way of looking at life. I never thought I would have opened my heart and mind to know God but it has been the best decision of my life. It's not an easy life I've led but having that personal relationship with Him, I know that He will make it easier to deal with.

@@Jonas-gl9ke I reluctantly became a Christian, not to obtain any benefits, I didn’t know there were any, but instead I did it to please God, although in the end He had push me into it. I never actually realised that this was the life I wanted. However the major benefits I obtained, such as gaining peace, resulted not from joining some club. I began to inexplicably change on the inside. I looked the same on the outside but inwardly I was turning into a new creature. And the complete recognition that this was the work of God, was such a confirmation to me, that I came under great conviction, of the reality of the intervention of God into my life. So much so that I became a very zealous new Christian. Belonging to any good club or religion has the potential to somewhat improve the life of its members. But the new life of the born again believer, is such, that it cannot be compared to anything else.

We are not judge and jury, especially as we remember the unbelievers that we used to be. However like Paul the apostle, we too can be thinkers, can’t we. The young man with the handsome ears and the red and white T-shirt said he lost his faith. Will he ever regain it? Time will tell. But currently he is snared by atheism. If God knows that he can be converted then God will see to it. But if he goes all the way to the grave as an unconverted soul, it’ll be because God didn’t intervene. And without God’s intervention theres no conversion. However God will only convert those who have that unknown desire, to be converted. Paul had this desire but was unaware of it. Therefore we give everyone a fair shake, don’t we. Why? Because we don’t know who is who. We don’t know who God has chosen.

That is absolutely true. The dead sea scrolls proved the OT was not changed to fit the NT after the fact. The OT lays out some incredibly specific prophecies about when Jesus would be born, what HE would do, What he would preach, how he would be betrayed and crucified, WHO would crucify Him and WHO would destroyed Israel after the crucifixion. Just as one example the OT predicted ROME would follow Greece, and ROME would crucify Jesus, and ROME would destroy Israel after the crucifixion. This was written centuries before the birth of Christ are the rise of the Roman Empire. It even predicted Rome would have 2 "legs" to its empire, which it did. Eastern and western Rome, as well as Pagan Rome and "Christian" Rome.

@@jackalsgate1146, agree to disagree. There is objective truth as cliff was trying to get at. How do know how to interact with each other then? Everyone would say stealing is wrong and the item stolen from another needs to be returned. Another example would be that everyone deserves the right to live without being attacked or murdered. The list can go on and on, but if dig deep enough there is a set of expectations that everyone subconsciously agrees on. There is a rule book that everyone agrees upon what is acceptable behavior and what's not in any given society in much the same way teams playing sports agree on the rules of the game beforehand, then play the game without changing those rules. A game without rules is not a game in the same way as no laws or expectations set forth by society at large. The only thing left to discuss then where does this source come from. I would have to say it's the moral code of the Bible. This was at least the standard we had when this country was first being formed. Why do anything then if there were no expectations to do good or evil, and how would we be able to define good and evil in the first place? We could be doing alot of activity in our lives, but how do we know what we are doing is for the better or worse? I am not getting at that you do things to be recognized, but there are other reasons why we do what we do. What's your reason? How did you come to conclude that this god you've mentioned exists?
@thundergasaway6502
@thundergasaway6502 2 жыл бұрын
One good thing to say that you can use, Ray Comfort uses often, the evidence for God is simple. Obviously there's manuscript, historical, archeological, prophetic, and eye witness. But the evidence there is a builder of a building is the building itself. You dont have to know him/them, they don't have to be alive, documented, photographed anything. The fact the building is there proves there is a builder. Same thing with a painting and a painter. You could extend this to many things. But next you can extend this to creation. The evidence there is a creator is creation. All the miraculous things. Like a human eye for example, 137 million light sensitive cells. How could it have evolved over time if each part of the eye is a necessary part of the other. It's all intricately crested and designed. Plus nothing can't create something. The fact that something exists at all compared to nothing is evidence of God. Energy cannot be created or destroyed yet simultaneously time space and matter came into existence from nothing. Then add in intelligent design argument, and fine tuning, the evidence for God is basically undeniable with everything else. You should hit more prophetic evidence. Because the fact things come true thousands of years later is evidence of the truth that Jesus is manifest in the flesh. Like the dead sea becoming fresh after thousands of years. 90m under the surface there are underwater fissures letting in fresh groundwater causing the surrounding crater to be teaming with microbial life. It's biblical. Plus many other things. Jewish people got their land back. The white horse. All the end time signs. Plus just the messianic prophecies Jesus fulfilled with his birth, life, death, and Resurrection. He fulfilled hundreds. Over 300 at least. These things also testify to the truth. And the spirit of Jesus is the spirit of truth and prophecy. So I think it could help. But I'm loving watching you share the word. Thank you and I'm glad I found your videos. Paul the apostle was always a thinker even before his great conversion. But because he was feeding error into his thinking apparatus he was making bad judgments calls. And even though he would have known, via common knowledge, that Jesus was a just man, nevertheless he thought he was a blasphemer. Paul wanted to preserve Judaism at all costs, hence he was rooting out this sect that could damage it. And although he eventually became adept at reasoning with the Jews, in the synagogue on the sabbath day, it’s unlikely that anyone could have reasoned with him, before his conversion. Such was his zeal. He had heard Stevan’s speech before he got stoned to death. And he was aware that the believers were humble good people. But it didn’t matter a jot to him because they were the enemy of Judaism . That’s where the buck stopped. He was a hard head. Presumably some of the believers prayed for his conversion, and the miracle happened. When all else fails, pray.

Why don’t these atheist go make an argument at the mall with Santa Claus or the fairy godmother. It’s because they know they don’t exist. But why is it that the atheist will take the time to make the argument that God doesn’t exist. It’s because they know he does exist. The Bible says in Romans 1 everyone knows that God exist and there without excuse. Romans 1:18-21 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

As an Atheist, my “life’s meaning” is multi faceted; I live to be healthy and happy with as level a “playing field” as is available to me. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our forefathers were so damn smart. My “driving force” isn’t God. It’s my survival instinct. And being a cognitive, human I am aware of things like television and automobiles (among countless other things) that I derive happiness from, beyond the need to eat, drink, etc that come from the instinctual nature of my being. It’s that simple. What’s, “right”/“wrong” and what others think is a completely different topic. Yes, you can be Hitler. Yes, you can be Mother Teresa. Your opinion of either has no effect on their perspective of their own life and what was important (worth living) to them. I think the kid had a lot of good points and was probably frustrated that he couldn’t have an honest discussion with someone who couldn’t put away his boner for God. 🤷🏻‍♂️ You don’t need God to have these discussions.

There is a moral law written on our hearts by God, the more you numb your God given conscience(sin, drugs, alcohol) the more you forsake that moral law. It’s why we naturally feel shame, guilt, etc after doing something contrary to that moral law. Furthermore, we are made in God’s image which is why our main drive is LOVE. Because he is Love and he made us not because he had to, but he wanted to SHARE that Love with us. Just like how when something good happens to us we long to share it with someone else. God is love, so anything to goes against him is the opposite. He defines what is good and what is not. I used to be atheist and God completely changed me and opened my eyes to the truth four years ago. The Bible is the only prophetic book in the world that has been 100% clear and accurate. The evidence for the truth of Jesus is outstanding and undeniable. Try and disprove the Bible yourself, you can’t. But you can try. It’s willful ignorance to deny the existence of God as he has made himself known throughout the entire universe. It all points to having a creator. And the Bible lays it all out perfectly.

Not to say that it hasn't happened or couldn't happen, people do become Christians all the time, but it's far more likely that people lose their faith when they enter higher education, and are exposed to scientific education where we have good solid answers to many of the questions that people in the past attributed to a God. @@bonnie43uk in regards to the rest of what you said you may as well throw everything in history out before video was invented. History nor evidence works that way you mentioned. I’m not making a claim of Christianity so please leave your ad hominem elsewhere. You cannot prove not a single person wrote anything whilst he lived, besides we only know the completed works are dated as early as 20 years ish but from what you said you may believe any in the us true before the invention of photography or TV maybe, it’s hard to follow your pick and choose logic. You may as well believe Jesus didn’t exist which perhaps that’s your position which would probably make sense from your faith position. Pretty much the only way I can make sense of what you said as one cannot use logic from your statements.

There's over 4,000 religions on Earth. Each religion quotes a similar John 3:16 in THEIR similar bible. 4000 religions talk about God and each similar Bible has a different similar Jesus. Each religion thinks the other religion going to hell. Let's imagine there is no religion. Does that mean God will not talk to us?? God put us all here on Earth, even the gentiles or the so-called unbelievers. Every one of us has a reason from God why we are here. We can quote scripture all day long from all the different Bibles out there in the world and all the similar Bibles out there in the world and none can not tell us God's true intentions. I've been told Faith and Hope is what I need. Why do I need faith and hope when I believe in God. I believe majority of religious people have put religion before God and not God before religion. I look around me everyday and see who are truly lost. I see many religious and non-religious people lost. Connecting directly with God is the answer. It's a relationship where it's nobody's business but yourself and God. I do not fear God because I know God loves me.

What I find baffling is ppl always wanna argue about evidence of existence of God. To me, my despise for religion never was about proof of his existence. What I found so very disturbing about religion, Christianity and Islam in particular is how they portray God to be. To suggest God tortures souls for eternity and never forgive them just because they didn’t believe a certain way is to suggest that God is evil. There is no logical way you can get around that assumption. So what religion is really saying is that God is evil and you should fear him. Nah, I chose to love a God that loves us all, suffers with us all and forgives us all. If my God doesn’t exist, and the one you religion boys believe in does then Hell probly isn’t that bad anyways, Because a God that is this evil can only be limited in his power, and evil always loses in the end.

@jessebryant9233 2 жыл бұрын
And yet, the Bible doesn't say that God tortures souls for eternity (it says they are in torment) and it never says that people in hell ever repent and besides that, you have no basis for defining good or evil. Or do you believe in God? And what God is that? One of your own making? No, what the Bible says is that God is perfectly good and just and so must punish evil. He gives you a means of escape, but if you love your sin-your evil-more than you love goodness which only comes from God, then rejecting God now, you will spend eternity separated from God forever-the source of goodness, justice, love, truth, peace, mercy-and living without those things, would be hell. So why do you refuse the goodness, justice, love, truth, peace, mercy that is available to you through Christ?

@paulwilfridhunt
@paulwilfridhunt 2 жыл бұрын
Initially it can seem unfair that God will draw some to Himself and not others. But if we take into consideration that God is only drawing those whom He knows will go His way, then on this basis it’s different, because it is fair and just. God isn’t forcing us but sometimes He uses a lot of force, as He did with Paul the apostle’s Damascus wake up call. God timed the intervention in Paul’s life perfectly. Right time right place. Inherently Paul was a good guy that persecuted the church sincerely believing it was necessary. Obviously, before his conversion he didn’t believe in the resurrection. He was only getting one side of the story, and this was a very smart man. Certainly a genius. But he wasn’t that type who would have been jeering at Jesus Christ hanging on the cross. He was actually for God, but before God audibly spoke to him, he didn’t realise that Jesus was God. God converted him bam and it was all over. But whilst it worked for Paul it wasn’t going to work Herod or Caiaphas. Therefore God never drew them because they were lost causes.
