Athletically Ben is more athletic in terms of traditional athleticism than pro golfers so it makes sense he can swing a club faster. Club speed has the highest correlations with vertical jump force, and horizontal force. Basically if you can jump high and sprint fast you have the highest potential to swing a club fast.

Showing a 16 year old kid whos been golfing for 5 years hitting his dads clubs carrys 310 on a shot thats clearly 250 tops is nonsense. The longer you hit, the wider the dispersion, most of the time ended up in bunker, deep rough, even water or OB. If you are a pro, then you can recover greatly from bunker and deep rough. Recreational golfer most likely cant hit the green

Played 90 threw 95 in high-school...250 was a monster drive back then with those little metal heqded steel shafted drivers ....and my 3 wood was persimmon....probably hit it 200 if I roped it and played it and my 5 wood off the tee 90 precent of the time ....other 10 I was ob right with driver

Some of these yardages are definitely wrong, but everyone underestimates tall skinny kids, my junior and senior year of highschool I was 6'4 145 pounds and i carried my driver anywhere from 290 to 300 depending on how good i hit it

While I am stunned at how far these kids are hitting it, I'm really not at the same time. We've seen what technology has done for distance over the last 25 years so it's really not all that difficult to believe. 15 years ago I would average 290 in a round and be one of the longest guys out of 30 or 40 that day. It's just not the same game today. To anyone wanting to compare banging balls on the driving range to playing on a professional circuit. Professionals almost never unleash on a drive. They are hitting a smooth 80 to 85% and threading the ball into the tightest fairways in the world. They are averaging 290 to 330 yards almost never letting a ball rip. These kids are hitting it as hard as they can. Probably somewhere near 110% with 100% being completely balanced and in control. They are flirting with coming out of their shoes on some of these shots. So take a pro who averages 310 and add 25% more because he's only swinging at 85%. Now the pro is hitting close to 390. And remember the pro has a better swing so when he really wants to hit it 400 410 420 it is not unheard of. And then let's just consider one more factor in this conversation. Driving is only a part of being a pro. They're not pros because their drives are the longest in the world, they are pros because they can do it over and over and over again with each and every club in their bag. Comparing these kids smashing balls on a driving range to a pro because they can drive it long is like comparing a kid out on a baseball field catching long pop flies. He's doing the exact same thing a pro player does and for the most part just as well. He just isn't throwing the ball from deep center field to home for the easy tag. I have no reason to doubt that video is legit. Now I want to know What team this school plays for because I'd love to watch them play. Lol

So first that tracer wasn’t drawn on perfect by our editor, if I recall from filming that video I believe he hit to the tree line in that direction. Second all numbers were verified with gc3 and Mevo+ at the end. Wind was at the back of these guys so carry numbers are farther with Mevo+.
