This song had an amazing blend of everything AA has ever done. I love the groovy country pop verses. The chorus is just ridiculous. I have not heard a chorus that good in years.

Honestly the part that disappoints me the most about this song is THE SCREAMS ARE THERE. They’re just so low in the mix, behind the singing, for the sake of getting on SiriusXM instead of being a banger song on Spotify. I noticed this in BMTH’s LoST, too. The screams ARE THERE. They sound great. Just put them in the forefront. Edit: To clarify, I’m not disappointed in the song as a whole, just bummed it’s being advertised as heavy, and then they put all the heavy elements in there, but then mix it to be poppier. I don’t mind poppy, and I LOOOOVE BMTH’s new song cause I’m a pop-punk kid for life. But this was just a “oh ok” moment for me unfortunately. Definitely growing on me on it the more I listen tho. It definitely will be AMAZING live *sometimes*. Sometimes he’ll lean more into the singing, and sometimes he’ll lean more into the screaming, that’s absolutely why they did the dual layers for the WHOOOLLE song.

As a long time AA fan i get what you mean about the screams, but you gotta remember Danny Shredded his voice on the From Death To Destiny tour and had to get vocal surgery. Ben has even said on the new album they got danny to do the singing first and then the screaming while recording because the vocal sessions would make him hoarse for days after

Thank you! someone who likes it! People expected 2009-2011 metalcore in 2023 when AA's FDTD wasn't even a metalcore album, it's a great song!

FDTD was definitely metalcore. Run Free, The Death of Me, Don't Pray For Me, Poison, The Road & Dead are all extremely heavy. Half the album is hard rock and half is heavy as hell. I do think they need to stop marketing like they're going back to their first two albums, because this has a lot in common with FDTD and their self titled. It would be received better if they just marketed properly.

@@conjuredlion they never explicitly stated it, it was more of a statement along the lines of "we're going back to our roots" and teasing the heavier parts of the song, and electronics that subtly suggested that they were talking about their first 2-3 albums. They made a broad statement and let fans run with it then dragged it on with teasers and Danny talking to fans on Cameo about how heavy this album and song was going to be. I was saying if they DIDNT do that, it would have probably been received much better but I think it's a great song. It's just not what people were led to believe which upset a lot of people.

I would love for AA to be heavy like they were, but I know Danny messed up his vocal chords doing harsh vocals. So I am happy with this. I love Danny's voice and don't want him messing it up, so I get why they haven't been as heavy.

I'm sort of struggling with how to feel about it. By all means it's not a b"ad" song and it's not a "soft" song. But it's not the song they built it up to be. When someone says "Asking are heavy again" I think about the first 3 albums. This sounded like an edgier version of LAHOF or Self-Titled. They weren't terrible albums but they were just meh. I've listened a few times and I'm sort of still unsure how I feel tbh

Its not that i hate the song its the fact the marketing was made to be “bringing the heavy back” so my positivity tword the song is almost non existent because I personally hate when someone markets (and releases a teaser with the heaviest part of the song) and releases a soft song that has barely any screaming (i was personally expecting something closer to the death of me from FDTD)

It's like people don't understand that Danny had throat surgery and had to repair his vocal cords.. because of how poorly he sang in the early part of his career. It's like they want him to destroy his career and life to please you guys
