I was at the Seattle show in 2010 where shit hit the fan for him, it was so surreal. Before the show on the 2nd floor of the bar Danny was drinking with girls around him and it was cool. By the time they got to stage, Danny was slurring and could barely sing or even scream. Then something happened and Danny started throwing punches to the fans literally stopping the show. Ben and the others finally got him off stage and instead of ending it, they got fans to come up and finish up songs in place of Danny. Shit was so fucking weird.

James seems like a decent guy and the rest of the band also seem like they could be sound. I disagree about Ben though. He's always come across as arrogant and self-righteous to me and probably no better than Danny. Almost every interview with him since Danny left is him talking about how much of a dick Danny is and claiming the new album is not about him when clearly it is. I understand that things with Danny were obviously stressful before he left but Ben should really just move on and stop throwing insults at him like when he mocked him for starting a career as a country singer. I think his holier than thou attitude comes off in the lyrics as well, especially on the new album. The guy has such an ego that he even decided to open one of their music videos with a pseudo motivational quote of his.

Nick Nordstrom not really. Their lyrics are aimed towards anyone who deals with things like depression, anxiety, loss, or suicidal thoughts. They sing about struggles and how they overcame or cope, and try to relate their pains to the listeners. Its not angst as much as it is mental illness. Like me personally, i suffer from just about all of those and bands like AA, and really the entire metalcore genre (attila excluded), have beautiful lyrics that really just help. I think if you aren't really in the same mind set or situation, you don't really get it.
