Oh my goodness I just found this channel from article written in the Rockford Register Star had to share on Facebook .I hope to share one of these a week. I had never seen this before. I hope you continue to make these videos. it's so encouraging. We all need good news. I haven't had a chance to look through the videos yet but I know a couple that have a small house where girls on the streets can go shower get a meal they also help many homeless and drug addicts and street people. Mostly out of their own pocket and donations. My church also has a food and clothing pantry. If your interested I can give you the numbers to meet and talk to those involved. There are so many people behind the scenes in Rockford making a difference one heart at a time ❤ thank you again for these videos . Looking forward to watching them all 🙏

Ok last one. 😊 Moving back to Rockford after being away for so many years leaves a lot of unanswered questions about the many abandoned buildings downtown. I would love to hear their stories of when these were economic staples and learn how they evolved to be abandoned castles of intrigue.

Unanswered questions? Downtown has been disintegrating for over 50 years. The only unanswered question is how didn't you notice that when you lived here before?

Forgive me if this story's already been told. I live downtown and like you believe everybody has a story but some may be considered voiceless who have little to no resources. I've wanted for a while to stop and ask many of the homeless people that inhabit the parking garage I walk through every day what their story is but I don't know how to start that conversation appropriately with respect, dignity and open ears. Perhaps Our City, Our Story could open those worlds up for the rest of us or help us understand how to best communicate with our neighbors by giving them a voice? Keep up the great work!
