I know its reckless from a financial standpoint, I really do feel they should bring CP3 back next year now they have had time to gel. CP3 is one of the greatest teachers of the game. I feel like 10 of those games, esp most of them being choking in the fourth quarter put them in the place they are in now, but they are as good as any of the other top 5 in the Western Conference. The problem with being in the play in is that its a sudden death one game ends it all, so we dont see the team at full strength (going for series of 7) because of the play in scenario.

A few teams were going to pick him in the 2nd round, but they wouldn't guarantee his contract. They were looking at him for a 2 way. Warriors said they would guarantee 2 years.

His agent is James Dunleavy, who is the younger brother of GSW's GM Mike Dunleavy. Pre draft day they made a deal that if Trayce fell in the 2nd rd they would guarantee him a contract instead of the typical 2 way contracts that 2nd rd picks normally get. So when he did fall Trayce and his agent told every team to not bother picking him unless they could top that GSW deal, it's nepotism at it's finest. No 2nd rd pick is entitled to a guaranteed contract prior to training camp or summer league. Luckily though, the Warriors are already at the tail end of their dynasty and Trayce himself is a 24 yr old rookie so what you're seeing now, he can still improve for sure but he'll never be an all star type talent

What it shows is the benefit of playing more than 1 year of college ball. The vast majority of the 1 & done guys take several years before making this kind of impact. Even some lottery picks take a couple years. I can't understand why teams used age as a negative when considering TJD. The slow NBA development of bigs is legendary which puts him just about where he would likely be if drafted as a freshman. Podz, going to a smaller school for his second year, had much less competition for playing time & the experience shows.
