Daddy issues happen when the girl's father is emotionally unavailable/distant, negligent, manipulative, exploitative, narcissistic, or abusive. We are all drawn to what we're familiar with, even if it is dysfunctional. Girls with lousy fathers are drawn into bad guys because bad guys have similar emotional make-up as their fathers. Both don't give out love freely but make the girls 'earn it', which is extremely unhealthy. These girls keep repeating the pattern until and unless they understand that it is their inner child wounding at play. Hope that answers your question.
