NYC is fun place to live in your 20s because that is when you are going out a lot to bars, clubs, etc. I loved living in the city in my 20s and early 30s. I'm 47 now and have zero desire to ever live there again. Now I enjoy life near the beach. NYC is gritty, beeping horns and trash everywhere, very stressful day to day in general and everyone lives in a tiny shoe box. Yes the lucrative high paying jobs are there, but what good is it if you're spending more than half your after tax income on rent for a shitty tiny place?

I realize it’s a bit last minute for this comment, but maybe you could pull it off. Go stand outside of the Super Bowl in Vegas and ask as many people as you can attending the superbowl what they do for a living. If you can’t make it this year, maybe next year? Maybe some other major sporting events like the Formula 1 race they had in Vegas recently.
