When they took away Campouts they took away legendary stories frfr High School kids don't even know about leaving school early cause They local store doesn't have but like 30 pairs so you had 2 camp

Trinidad James is correct. The history is lost. Look at the Jordan 1-23. They all had a story and a reason for their design. They were innovative, fresh, intriguing. People nowadays only know Jordan from a crying meme, which is an absolute low point in sports history. Hype is the only thing driving this train, it’s uninteresting/lame and you got lil yachty taking a white AF1 putting a shitty logo on it and calling it cool and limited 😂😂😂😂😂

Resellers will suffer but Sneaker collecting will never die. People are just looking at Nike but there’s so many different brands that are way to stylish and comfortable to pass up. I’m 55 and I’ve got all kinds of brands and by the way the WU Tangs were for us OG,s🤣

Great content Sir Omar. Sneakers/Sneaker Culture. Everyone had valid view points & opinions respect Trinidad with the storytelling angle but let's be honest once certain drops take place & a buzz of excitement ie Wu Dunks (pun intended) it speaks volumes to the connection 'we' still have to the kick game. I still got hyped for the Black Cement 3s cause never had a pair & now I am able to just thankful the resellers no longer have the upper hand on the gane no more tho 😊

@Drohead204 сағат бұрын
Why does this hurt? Never understood this. If you were able to get a pair for retail, who cares if they sit? The originals sat too and went on steep discount. Does it hurt you because then you feel like you don’t have something that’s “exclusive”? This is proof some of you only care about wearing what has hype, rather than just wearing what you like. Good god who cares if it’s still on the shelf, that’s fucking awesome. Now we can all buy what we want.

Over saturation. How many Black Jordan 3s can we have in one year. 1. BLACK noir 2. Green Glow 3. Ama Maniere 3s 3. Black Cement 3s 4. Black Cat 3s.

A lot of good points were made by most of them. And at the end I think it's a mix of them all. Yes, resell and "what sets the trend" is always a reason (not just in sneakers), but I also take my 17 year old daughter and other at her age as an example: Social media sets trends, not what's OG. They don't care. Yes, there was a lot of hype of Dunks, Jordans, specifically the 4's, which probably still go most the times and will always be a wanted model. But the pieces of the cake got cut into different pieces. Here in Germany and also the Netherlands, maybe a lot of other european countries, too, you see a lot more brands. What have been the Panda Dunks, you literally saw at least ten times a day, became the Adidas Campus or as of late Asics. Also, Air Max's have always been hot here. You see a lot of New Balance. Kids don't care of the brand, like mentioned. Me, I will always be loyal to Nike/Jordans. Kids today don't care. They want comfort, yes, it should look cool, but they don't care about what's OG like in our days. It's more important to swim with the (social media) trend. And yes, maybe compared to Nike/Jordan over producing a lot of things effected the trends and the reseller market. Don't forget also the effect Fakes/Reps had, during times a lot of stuff you simply couldn't get because the Bots and Resellers. Personally, I love it. It's good times to be sneaker collector. I love the fact to have the opportunity to go to work and order later online or buy at a store. Instead of sellouts in a few seconds - which in things like with the Travis' is still the case, no doubt. Nonetheless, I like having a fair chance to buy for retail and also to SEE good stuff on the shelves. I'm old school, I love that. Also, while over the years with the pandamic resell got so greedy and dirty, while now people don't have that much to spend or the mindset really is like "how many of the colorways I really need", it's a natural change.

People are broke!!! All these people talking about nonsense in saying Nike’s fault or it’s the reseller’s fault. No has everything to do with the time. We are in a Time where people have to realize it’s either pay the bills or look fresh. Sneakers are not dead ?! People were saying the same thing back in 2016 all the way to 2020. The problem is is that Nike releases a new Sneaker every week! People can’t afford to drop money every week instead of them doing that they should have two releases a month and mass produces those and I promise you they will sell out

More things are more important. The kids still going to buy the travis scott collabs. But kids are becoming adults and realizing if they not selling shoes. Then that's not going to be their first priority. For me God family then bills. Adults that have money to get sneakers regularly are not quick to spend their money on sneakers especially after covid many people lost their job and died and things are higher in price now. And kids would get money from their parent but the parents don't have the money too or they just don't want them too

Sneaker resellers killed the culture. Can’t be 40+ years old trying to make $20 on a shoe…people like cool kicks are the killers of the culture. His revenue did double but he opened three stores to it should have 10x - his dad is still bankrolling the “dream” but it’s going to be a nightmare soon. The old heads will have their day again when these clowns walk away and start reselling something else, over saturation kills the niche culture people enjoyed
@Drohead204 сағат бұрын
He said his revenue doubled, but I’d love to know how his profits were. Margins are literally nonexistent right now so sure his revenue could’ve doubled because he has to put out a shit ton of volume, but I guarantee his profits weren’t the same.
