Dear TreeMan, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the content of the video, which was intended to address the issue of excessive formality in personal interactions. Upon viewing the video, I found that the content did not adequately capture the nuances and practical implications of the topic. Instead of providing insightful commentary and useful strategies for managing formal communication, the video primarily offered vague generalizations and lacked concrete examples. This approach did not effectively illustrate the impact of excessive formality on interpersonal relationships or offer practical solutions to mitigate this behavior. Moreover, the presenter’s own delivery was excessively formal, which not only contradicted the intended message but also made the content less accessible and engaging for the audience. This undermined the video’s credibility and effectiveness in addressing the issue it purported to resolve. I believe that the video would benefit from a more balanced and relatable approach, incorporating real-life scenarios and actionable advice to help viewers understand and navigate the complexities of formal communication in a practical context. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that my feedback will contribute to improving the quality and relevance of future content. ....

Okay that was good. 😂 This was the comment that helped me understand what "written language" meant. Definitely strange if someone spoke like this in real life.

funny video 😂 but the title is confusing, i know that's probably the literal translation from Mandarin to English, however i suggest to change it to 'Telling a Long Story Just to Ask a Question | Prank' ❣

the fact is that in chinese there is a "written language" where the words are more formal, so if you use these words on daily speech chinese people will think is weird. That's why one of them said that she thought she was a "sale person" because these words are usually used on books

It actually is written language. Spoken and written Chinese are different - the written one has more formal words that sound weird when spoken. A little example, at the start of her sentence she said yesterday (昨日) , no body says this in spoken Chinese. She is not telling a long story, she is just giving them an example of where she went and if they can recommend places. The translation of "written language" is correct.

Formal language instead of written language makes more sense for the title. ( I initially thought poetic language)

I get the feeling we don't have an English analog. Perhaps it's like some one speaking in a Shakespearean manner or in unusually flowery prose.

It is like you are speaking in the same way you would write a descriptive essay. Verbally, you would say something like: Can you recommend some interesting places in Paris other than the Eiffel Tower? While you would usually see this in written form: Yesterday, I visited the Eiffel Tower that was built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of French Revolution. The tower is considered to be the epitome of French engineering and design, and it is often featured in representations of Paris and the French culture. Additionally, the tower's silhouette has been described as romantic, and its intricate design and height have made it a popular subject for art and photography. Can you recommend some interesting places in Paris other than the Eiffel Tower?
