As far as i know, i dont know of any faults up this way or juntion faults but you can clearly see at the falls 3 seperate rock faces WITH quartz and pyrites, found least what i think it was a blob of a metal oxidising white. Know of any info geologicly up in these parts? Thanks

Thanks for another great video Jeff. I have done both, lode and placer mining and I enjoy placer over the lode mining. I don't like going underground much any more as I am getting old and cranky. Hey Jeff, I seen something interesting the other day. I am out by the coast. While walking down a gravel road. There was a sandstone road it with what appears to be rusty rusty veins going through it.. 🤔 definitely oxidizing, looks hydrothermal possibly.

Jeffery, consider getting some of the doggie-do bags that people take on walks with their dogs. They come in small rolls that are easy to carry in your pocket and a lot of times are in a small carrier that hook to a leash or dog harness. They might not carry much and might have to be doubled up but could serve as sample bags for when you forget the real thing.

My biggest complaint with geologic maps-especially those of larger scale-is that they often lack references to terrain features, roads, and towns at a certain level. My second is that they are approximations and generalizations. You can easily run into a rock unit that's atypical for the area at large. The third is that when you do an online search and click on a result, you'll end up in an archive that references a resource and no way to link to it. I'm glad you have that in your library. That's nice.

Jeff, I found a place like that out driving around in a gold district the bank above the road slid out and reviled it, I took some samples there was small gold I need to get better sample. I don't want people to see me up there it's right on the road it's that red stuff just like that you crushed that stuff will stain a stain

You could have a system where you could have several "cloth sack" loads zoom down to ground level where Lila is. i think one of those expensive XRF hand held guns are something that would make prospecting super easy and effective.. just research areas of old workings and then see what ones are available to claim. after you find an area you simply can use that XRF gun on the tailings piles to see what they are extracting in the mine.. the speed and accuracy would pinpoint areas worth claiming by getting results instantly without any work processing the samples.. they are pricey but i think they would be a great investment if you were wanting to find the best ore samples possible with the least work. wonder what any downsides there could be? have you ever used a hand held XRF gun machine? could you use them inside the mines on possible veins right in the wall or do the samples need to be extracted from the wall to work?
