Sorry, but I think that after a certain level of income people should be pushed out. Raise their rent so high that it's not worth it to live there. Im in my 40s having to still share with random people and someone on 90k a year is in social housing? That's absolute nonsense.

Ill give you a real time frame, 16yrs! And actual need of housing with a child. Also its not 70 qiud a week! This is the a bogus video.. don't listen to listen to this, apply if you can't afford your own most definitely but honesty this actually made me angry! Signed up in 2003/4 only got my first offer 3.5yrs ago 😢i lost my youth, and not my wish either, i would give my right arm for a mortgage and a real home of my own. This was posted a month ago 😳. Very disappointed with the fake info in this. In this system so i know its untrue

I am from NY and we do have social housing. And we have rent control. Older people don't need to fear or crazy rent hikes or the landlord selling the property like it happens here.

They are not living comfortably. It is an illusion and that is the case with most welfare state programs. People that are born into those housing programs do not tend to fair well in life and the stigma of being from that social class can last for generations.

Most council housing is rented by people who work. While your taxes pay for the development those houses are normally paid off through rent. Within 10 years the house is almost paid off.

@nighthawk1295 Council houses are extremely cheap to the point they are far below the current market development cost. Many were built in an era where housing was a fraction of today’s highly regulated market.

@nighthawk1295 There currently are no houses being built. Houses were being built in the 1980s for £20000.
