I grew up reading great R.K.Laxman's cartoons/memes on news papers back in the days. Today Prof.RV's talk on PSU's, State Govt's , Bureaucracy on a humorous note reminded me of the same. To survive in India one needs this humour or else we can go crazy very soon.

Dear Sirs, Without an iota of doubt Prof RV is an erudite sage whose pearls of wisdom are rare & priceless It's an observation that he appears to have little regard and minimal respect for his KarmaBhoomi of KA, that has been the land of his professional earnings & retirement home At times he appears to present his JanmaBhoomi of TN as a pious🐮cow, while conveniently running down KA 😥😥😥😥
@tanmaih58293 жыл бұрын
I feel people get the confidence to run down KA, simply because of the docile nature of the state's natives. Poor langauge cohesion and culturally disconnected regions make it easy for anyone to prosper inspite of utter disregard for the state. Had the prof settled in TN, without a shred of doubt he would think twice before bad mouthing his state.

From 1967 onwards Tamilnadu has been going on a different path which is against the national integrity. That too after 2021 elections the dmk&co is voicing in favor of disintegration. Sensing the severity of its call, the central government placed Honble R.N.Ravi as governor in Tamilnadu. After his installation the company is somewhat scary of dissolution, playing a low profile card.

We feel the absence of two leaders Madam jaya and kalainjar karunanidhi. Those two are sober, know what they are talking, doing and had a clear cut idea where they are leading their cadre and the state. That is how they dealt with ltte problem in tamil nadu also. Never was and still is national integration a threat in india. Both are not able to rise above being trapped by corrupt people around them but both are able to win the trust of people that the state is in safe hands whenever they ruled. Mr. Stalin has to prove his credentials. Give him some time. He has done the hard work to become c m on his own right. Should not become a pawn in the hands of some misguided vested interests. Should rise above those things and give a corruption free and violence free administration. If he does that he will be creating a record that dmk was voted back for the second time without break.

India's most corrupted govt body is municipal corporations, next police. My view is land title, law and order, property should vest with centre through uniform law across India. When many taxes, courts comes under central govt why not law and order, property not comes under central government. Need constitution amendment reviewing federal structure and the function of state government

As a Voter do I have the choice to shortlist candidates ?. At the most, I can go on the day of voting and press one button and that is it Rest it is loot for the next 5 years .. Election system should be completely revamped and ensured only GOOD people can contest through multiple stages of selection process such as shortlisting, etc.. REDUCE the influence of political leaders. Everything should start from ELECTION REFORMS .. I personally have 25 ideas on this front

After GST revenue of the state is automatic .. excise coming from petroleum products is also automatic. The federal structure was envisaged in 1950 when there were no computers, no internet, etc.. With the kind of technology, we are in the entire Bharat can be managed by one supercomputer and that is the power of technology. I thought about this topic a few years back. Except for corruption State Govt has no other job. Health care, education, even land reforms, and agriculture all are now handled by the central govt. hence CM is ornamental position just to announce grants to their favorite people and organization .. State govt is money spending machine

There are more and more Political Posts which eat up into the National Public Kitty which could be used for Social Security and Nation Building. Minimum Government and Maximum Governance promised not playing out yet despite the Technology advancements as for Tech roll out rookies are being roped in for Critical Government Contracts, who uses proprietary Software which not only fail us as a Nation but also cripple the Systems and make them a high cost centers. Vested interests at work. How they benefit by these high cost centers ? It assures their wards, near and dear ones a high paying job. Quid Pro Quo. Dissolution of linguistic states is an urgency, this will cut down the regional parties to their deserving status - nothing more than municipal councils. District based governance will deliver better results , every dist has an LS MP , dissolve rajya sabha too. Another big danger is how state govt officials including police are becoming political party sychopants. Even river water disputes are mainly due to linguistic states . We need to defeat the Marxists plan of adhikari thesis by unifying the country without internal state borders. Another malaise of states is development gets limited to capital cities , rest of state remain in need of infrastructure & basic facilities.

Thought provoking ideas.The present system of our political and administrative structure has not delivered expected results .More over the systems of representative democracy was evolved before IT revolution.Many Corporates,businesses service oriented establishments have radically changed their organisation structure and process to drastically bring down costs and enhance efficiencies. Same thing requires to be done in our political and governance structures. Reforms are required in all branches namely legislative,executive and judiciary to remove overlaps.We have surfeit of laws and future laws will be to meet advancements.We need to simply adopt laws that are tried tested in other western democracies and endorsed by UNO.Law making should be regarded as a specialised job and entrusted to special law commission.In the present system we essentially elect law makers who have no powers to fulfil the promises they make.Also The present system is the root cause for corruption and nepotism and crony capitalism.Therre is a need to drastically reduce elected representatives to say a thousand at district level.People should elect district Governors,state governors and head of country.Unitary system works more efficiently in our country.But these changes can be brought about only by amendments of our constitution. We should. In the interim work for a predominantly one partyrule for next twenty years that has clear majority in both houses. I request professor and P Guru to come forward with a discussion paper on various issue for wide debate and discussion.In this paper a compelling diagnosis of the ills of the practice of present democratic system and a vision for future are of course necessary. Strong sense of belonging to one nation, one country one law one tax.Harmony among various groups across religion caste language and state encouragement for intermingling.strong military power. To rank among the Top nations in economic development. Removal of poverty unemployment malnutrition. Adopting Devanagari script as a common alternative for all Indian langauges.Encouraging persons to migrate to other parts of the country for education and employment.Top quality ,honest and competent and able civil and public representatives etc

In one case Prof says he salutes UP CM for him to managing the 70 districts, then he says there needs to be only 6-7 ministries , and Delhi can manage easily till Kanyakumari .... its a contradictory statement and also, quite an analysis which lacks any cultural or heritage sensitivity to the sentiments of each state..... its dictatorial, undemocratic and policies are fascistic and Maoist in nature
@sridhardon95883 жыл бұрын
State governments maybe redundant. But, the egos of every identity in India is going up. Egos are highest for the educated and better off. The divergent people will never shake off their divergent interests ... Brahmins will be Brahmins .... Dalits be Dalits and all in between. Kannadigas will be Kannadigas ... like wise all ethnics. The Center is impotent to divergence. All concentration of power will end up in a big fat failure. This is a natural law. The Center cannot build a civilization by stifling autonomy. Let us see if this truism holds good for the next 20 years ... if u guys are around, I will remind what I have said today
