Asleep At The Wheel: Roland BLASTS Black Leaders Inaction Amid Rise In Anti-Blackness, Anti-DEI, CRT

Roland S. Martin

24 күн бұрын

Roland Martin criticized Black leadership for their silence and inaction amid the rise of anti-DEI, anti-CRT, and an overall increase in anti-Blackness since the "Summer of Racial Reckoning."
Despite historic levels of support, activism, and pledges of funds to address racial inequality, corporate America is reversing course and reneging on commitments of millions.
To make matters worse, conservative lawmakers are pushing legislation that dismantles DEI efforts, and the right-leaning Supreme Court has gutted Affirmative Action.
In the face of these increasing challenges, Martin feels Black leadership is "asleep at the wheel" because they are not doing enough to push back against these blatant anti-Black efforts.

I agree with criticizing the leadership of our community but not really on the particulars of Roland’s criticism. For instance with BLM he criticizes the leaders for not “realizing how angry” the broader community was at that movement but doesn’t criticize the organization for its blatant grift and its squandering of an opportunity. If you recognize that it was the first movement to ever have mainstream support, then you should realize the true cost of self leaders squandering the support and resources that came to it. Roland interviewed global blm’s leadership and listened as they complained about losing 33 million dollars and allowed them to portray themselves as victims. He listened to Patrice colors portray herself as a hapless victim of haters during her real estate controversy and also when the org purchased that mansion. He even allowed the current leaders to pretend that the mansions purchase is legit even though they are just using it for personal events. This sort of grift occurs in lots of places in our community and it means that some leaders are ruining hard to come by opportunities for advancement and we are not holding them to account. I think he also fails to realize strategically what a mistake we have made in counting on certain policies and relying on racially charged rhetoric that ultimately failed to build consensus and support for us. Roland is notoriously intolerant of differing opinions on his show. He shouts at guests that disagree with him with utter contempt instead of just entertaining changes in community strategy. You can’t participate in this failed rhetoric and failed strategy and then get on a stage frantically sounding the alarm and call yourself holding people accountable.

The answer is the hard truth about the history of the world! In this country we get "his story" and not the true history! America is the oldest democracy in the world and it's not even 60 years old yet! We are still fighting the same fight Marcus, Malcolm, Martin, Huey and George died for, the fight for equality!

Can Black churches teach CRT? Can CRT be learned in the homes? How can CRT help Black folks learn about starting a business? Can CRT close the so-called wage gap or increase generational wealth? More non-sense!!! Another holiday and CRT approved in the schools will set us straight. Right?

Atlanta, Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina and Texas. There are too many Black folks there, to not have at least half if not a third of the control. I just don't get it! They need to start letting these red States know who really have the power!
