"Bonded leather is quite literally from the bottom of the barrel. Leftover scraps of leather are shredded and ground to a near pulp, then bonded together onto a fiber sheet using polyurethane or latex." I looked into it some years ago when my shoes started to peel. I was shocked and disappointed! It's also used for bags and "leather" furniture. Love the slippers, and the roses are exquisite 😊

That explains a lot. 💜I'm still baffled by why it suddenly started falling apart though! Like all at once 😆

Thanks for the inspiration to declutter for ‘energetic’ reasons. I’ve had a very traumatic experience earlier in the year when I suffered a miscarriage and i happened to be wearing one on my absolute favourite outfits when I was rushed into hospital. Nothing has changed about the pieces, they are still perfect and beautiful but I really need to let go of the bad energy. The Eastern European in me says ‘but they are still good! 🙈 your video was like a permission to let it go. Thanks!!

I’ve had some traumatic experiences in some of my clothes as well. I finally came to the conclusion that I had to let them go for my own peace. I promise you won’t regret it. When I do know that I have some control over a situation that may cause me trauma, such as court, a funeral etc… I literally have a black blazer that I wear & I also wear all black. I know that blazer is for when I have to deal with very negative things. It actually doesn’t bother me to have it in my closet, bc that blazer has a purpose. I understand what it’s like to lose a baby. I’m very sorry for your pain & suffering.

FYI that black jacket is definitely not leather. It is PVC. I had a similar jacket and it was fine for quite a while but when it started to peel, it went everywhere. Leather will never do what you showed which is why I consider it a sustainable material. Best to get secondhand vintage leather. Great video! ❤

Patricia, I have been enjoying your videos for years. It’s been interesting watching your personal and wardrobe evolution. Green is my all-time favorite color and I found the shade of your sweater jarring every time I saw it. Looking forward to your soft era. Thank you for sharing your life and being such an inspiration.

I enjoyed all of this very much. The first few minutes were a poetic and fantastic message, and the thought process of a practiced declutterer and artist continues to be inspiring and helpful.

I cant wait to reach this stage of declutterring- the mindful stage must be the most rewarding! Thank you for your focus on your philosophy on this. Such a shame to lose the coffee table. Could you Kintsugi the top cracks and place the top on cinder bricks or a metal ottoman?

I have a pair of leather knee high boots doing the exact same thing as your jacket. It is weird. I guess if I decide to get another pair of leather boots going forward, I will look for some that seem to be leather through and through. The things we learn as we go, right??
