As someone who is currently in law school, I definitely think you should explore your legal options against the person who made the twitter. Most of the time, the single threat of legal action will be sufficient in making them back down but the court system really is who got the most money. The reason cheating is so big in osrs is because how easy it is to get away with it and the fact that real money is involved motivates people to keep cheating, in my opinion AHK is one of the biggest problems atm, similar to aim botting in cod but the cod devs ban people pretty easily, i think jagex genuinely have no idea how to stop it apart from banning 1/1000 of bots/ahkers i think theres just people smarter out there who know how to code and manipulate the game, and the only risk is a banned account so they just make another account.

The huge bot epidemic is why I stopped playing for 7 months. It’s pathetic, jagex has never done anything about it, the trident thing got me so disheartened and with multi “pking” it’s not pking it’s bundling pouring more damage that one invent can heal in one tick has zero skill imo. Jagex can’t do anything about botting. It’s an arms race between botting software & detection software. Jagex would go bankrupt before it was able to outpace bots. This is why many people are calling to make botting legal & to just design content/the economy around bots to finally solve the problem.

I think you’ll realize that if you look deeper into the suggestion of bot legalization. It’s only dumb to legalize botting if there is no intention to modify the game to account for said botting. The problem we have now is the game is NOT designed to account for bots, yet bots make up a significant portion of the active player base. The result is detrimental to regular players as content and the economy get extensively devalued for regular players. An economy designed to account for bots brings more value to regular players, and this can only be achieved if botting is embraced as a part of the game that will never, ever go away. It’s time we stop ignoring the issue & applying bandaid & temporary bot busting measures that never addresses the root problem. Jagex cannot design the game to account for bots, if they disallow bots. By leaving them illegal & modifying/creating content to account for them. It greats a contradictory standard & would inevitably result in suspicions that Jagex is benefitting secretly from the bots somehow. Transparency and action is the best course for a long term bot solution.
