There are two different bubbles on the paladin. The original Divine Protection bubble YOU COULD NOT ATTACK. Divine Protection Rank 2 35 Mana Instant 5 min cooldown Requires Paladin Requires level 18 You are protected from all physical attacks and spells for 8 sec, but during that time you cannot attack or use physical abilities yourself. Once protected, the target cannot be made invulnerable by Divine Shield, Divine Protection or Blessing of Protection again for 1 min.

The Skullreaver Sword proc does improve with Spell Damage, damage and healing. So if you're a Hpal, and you stack Essence of Pure Flame, Malistar Defender Shield with thorium spike, Skullreaver Sword + Vampiric enchant. You can just farm Dire Maul Est lashers like a BOSS. Ton of golds to make right there with this stuff. santuary Blessing in prot spec will help you aswell. I've done this so many times I know that's good.

I liked that there was odd items and buffs like that instead of everything being 100% calculated as an upgrade but that was back then I think Classic will be very different because most people know exactly which items to go for now, if not there's a ton of documentation about every item in the game to check for what item is the best and if you don't have them you will probably have a hard time. Anyways it was fun goofing around with those items and in some very specific situation some of the items could even be useful.

That's what I like about the gear system in ESO. There are tons of very viable proc sets in that game that are very fun to fool around with. One time I took an underused set that healed you when you were immobilized, slowed or stunned (2500 hp per second, average hp was 20k, just for an idea), and I made a potion that healed me over time but also slowed me down for 40 seconds. I combined this with a tank set and nobody could kill me in pvp. I wish they did something like that in WoW

Weird gear was in the game all the way until Mists of Pandaria. I remember getting some random plate greenie...with Agility on it. Shared primary stats didn't came until Warlords. So yeah, this was an item that nobody would ever use. Useless gear drops happened until late MOP too. Majority of the guilds were ten man and there were some itemizations that matched just a single spec - intellect mail, intellect plate. These gear pieces were flat out useless to a raid without such a class in it (which is not hard to do in ten man raids and 11 classes in the game). Of course the impact of this was lighter as MOP had 2 gear pieces for 10 players while vanilla had 2-3 for 40.

Video seems to say that throwing weapons are useless in vanilla WoW. Their faster cast time makes them a lot better for Warriors and Rogues when they need to kite something. The fast cast time is quite nice for pulling things quickly too. Before about level 35 (when guns and bow start to actually give stats), I would always choose thrown over the other two ranged options on Rogue or Warrior.

"Divine Shield" is the paladin ability where you can attack and you're completely invulnerable. "Blessing of protection" only makes you invulnerable to physical attacks, and you CANNOT attack.

It doesn't have to be the same item to be good. They could have made the Essence of Pure Flame Deal 25 damage instead of 13. Or have the staff heal you over time while rendering unable to attack. The entire gear system in ESO actually works like this, and they make it work.

The Lion Horn of stormwind buff can stack across raid, if multiple people in the group have it, say for pvp for instance that ends up being a huge buff if 15 people in a AV proc it at the same time. I imagine that is the intent of the item, say youre in mid combat and a few of these proc within 30 seconds of eachother, wow thats a shit ton of armor for awhile.

Spire of the stoneshapper was a good bag item, not wep. I had a macro that equipped, used the item, then replaced my regular wep. I used this when leveling on my priest, when I accidentally pulled too many mobs and had to run away. Saved my can a bunch of times!

I used to cop shit in vanilla for using a weapon called the Earthshaker, but it was completely busted. I used different weapons while raiding, but in PVP and while grinding / in parties it was overpowered as hell. It would knock enemies down for 3 seconds. Key note here, I said 'enemies' not 'your target'. Plural. I would make a seismic tremor and all aroudn you would fall over. It wasn't a stun, so there was no blink or trinketing. It had no proc per minute cap. It had a reasonable proc chance, and it would check for each hit. It almost always proc'd off of whirlwind. In practice this meant that you could 1v3 enemies as a warrior in world PVP and you could CC chain mob packs in dungeons. It wasn't unusual to charge a mage and knock it on its arse long enough to kill it before it could react. Ice block or die, basically.

Actually I think that the Shaman items dropping for Alliance, or Paladin items dropping for Horde was pretty immersive. Because both Shamans and Paladins exist in the world, and when running with Alliance group you are still aware that there are Horde players out there. The boss could potentially drop whatever for you as well as for the other players. Onyxia doesn't care if you're Horde or Alliance. That actually makes sense to me.

Pure flame isnt bad. its just situational. You use it for thorns tanking with force reactive disk, nagler, etc. you're pumping out like 100 damage for every hit you take.

vendorstrike although not great by comparison to the other 2H in MC or even some blues from dungeons. It just gets an unnecessarily bad rap the proc rate isn't trash like other polearms so it does abit of extra damage really thunderstrikes AoE needs a buff as the proximity required for you to get a jump is rather small it'd be a hella strong weapon if it had the jump range of the actually skill its meant to replicate aka chain lightening. Shadowstrike is also not bad for sustain especially on a pally solo grinding with shadowstrike, judgement of light and life steal enchant you can effectively negate a good bit of damage taken depending on the mob you can even come out with full health. But yeah the lack of stats is another major downside, the strength on obsidian is a huge dps boost on top of the 5 more dps it already has on vendorstrike. Its damage range is also kinda weak but it really comes down to the situation I personally think vendorstrike is better the the doomsaw the polearm from rend in UBRS since the wound proc on that is physical so its heavily mitigated by armor never once have I seen it proc in the actual specified damage range of the weapon its anywhere from 100-200 below what it says it does and its overall proc chance is less frequent, so yeah verdorstrike beats that personally.

honestly you can make a pretty solid thorns build with that, skullflame with thorium spikes, naglering, ret aura, and blessing of sanctuary, plus holy shield if pally like the total damage does add up and for classes without aoe taunts like paladins reflect damage is a pretty solid way to build and maintain threat on multiple targets. Theres some other items you can throw in too for more damage I know theres a pair of gloves that also does some thorn damage if you add it all up you can be doing an actual hefty amount of damage just from being hit. If I could get all the pieces mentioned I'd even entertain being a prot pally for pvp just watch rogues and fury warriors do tons of damage to themselves, rogues mostly since they won't be getting free damage while stun locking and instead having it come at a cost. Also if they ever decide to fix reckoning it'd shape up to be a insane build cause they'd effectively be within 1 shot range with reckoning procs that accumulated during the stun.

@@mathews1451 In PvE not but as a druid flag carrier with hots up and your buffs popped it's pretty good. Druids didn't have that much armor and you wouldn't use a lot of skills anyways.
