Do a quest line that everyone gets and get a legendary at the end, easy. If you inspected any single character that was raiding end game content they all had the exact same legendary ring or whatever it was. Legendary weapons in original wow were very hard to get because the game was fundamentally different. Seeing someone with Sulfuras or even just 1 Twinblade was the dopest shit ever. You don't think entire guilds came together in classic to get their guild mates some of the most powerful and extremely difficult to get items in the game? A legendary item should be and feel just that, LEGENDARY. At the time in retail, you got your obligatory legendary item and joined the legions of other players that also had it. To be clear, I totally get it to like current WoW, especially if someone didn't play any of the first 3 iterations of the game. It's just again so fundamentally different from what it used to be

I definitely miss these days and wish they did more to bring us back to older regions or something. It's called "WORLD of Warcraft" and they always just focus on the new expacs' continents instead of immersing us in the world as a whole. @@magerr98 Actaully legendaries in vanilla were super easy to get, because the raid bosses had less mechanics than modern day normal dungeon bosses. So basically every casual can get those legendaries, just like in retail. The only thing that prevented that from happening was people litterally being shit at the game - like really terrible dog shit. And imagine the outcry these days, if there was the possibility to get a legendary, that drops only from mythic endboss (which is actually hard unlike getting a vanilla legendary). People would raid the Blizzard headquater before getting into the new raid.

friend of mine got eye of sulfuras in classsic, only thing the guild helped out with were the ingots. Rest he farmed for himself over a few weeks. Its only special like this if you have a lot of connections like asmon does. On probably no other server will guilds just throw stuff together. Sometimes they trade ingots, yeah. "we give you 3 now, you give us 5 back later" and stuff. But not give arcanite bars basically for free or something :D

The sense of community here was huge. Hand of Rag took ages to get by guilds, but an entire server came together and got it within the first month of classic being out. This is what people miss when they think of classic wow. game still sucks though:D
