The sword and parry system of the first one is waaaaayy more satisfying and fun to learn imo. The fights with the Amanecidas or Crisanta (real fight) for exemple are so much fun! There is nothing like that in the sequel sadly. You can face tank with the mace at one point haha. They had an interesting, unique combat system and they blew it with the second one imo.

But I also saw people far better than be do some absolutely insane shit by comboing between the weapons in a way that actually WAS unique.

@CalebDekker I know it's been two weeks, but you probably meant because it's also pixellated, why couldn't they do the cutscenes the same way. But if you look at Blasphemous 1's cutscenes you should notice how very different it looks from the normal game. Because *animating* big pictures / models like that is waaay different and also much harder to do. I mean just look at how small the penitant's and enemies' models and animations are, they are also not nearly as clear as the cutscenes from the first game. The only thing coming close to it are boss animations and I bet they were very hard to do already. Animating a whole big cutscene in this style is a very special talent that sadly left the game and is not easy to replace

That 3 sisters was my first boss fight in the game I only had 2 flasks and basically no other upgrades. It was hard for me the first time. Now I play boss rush and kill them in like 15 seconds with no damage.

I agree and while I'm looking forward to DLC I don't see that changing. Probably the weirdest one is how nerfed the platforming is, the tolerance on the controls is so lenient it feels like you stick to everything, on top of that bottomless pits and spikes don't even kill you now? Seems like a bizarre overreaction from listening to a vocal minority of spoiled children on message boards and game journalists. Hopefully we see some DLC with real platforming challenges. The mix of Saturday cartoon style cutscenes with beautiful pixel art is a heinous artistic choice, but at least it's kinda understandable given the extreme circumstances surrounding it. Imo B2 has some fun new features and is a solid game but B1 is more of a "perfect game".

No way Asmon immediately discovers the secret path to the Cistern and Jondo, I went all the way around and also didn't get the first checkpoint at Jondo, so I played through the mountains plus like a third of Jondo on my 2 flasks (didnt know the blood altars let you increase the amount till I reached the end of Jondo) because I didn't realize you could climb up the ladders through the iron grid at 35:00 to get to the checkpoint.

Yes way, I also found those paths on my own and when to the mountains later... As of now i am on 98% of the game and I am only missing the last rose portal thingy, the pictures and the cup that needs to be filled with blood, and failed to deliver the eyes cuz I had already defeated the girl that looks like the penitent. I also found the tomb of the sister so I did not have to battle that moron dude. The only thing I used the internet for was to read the items tooltips as I could not scroll down on the damn menus on my pc, there I found out about the item that you need to fill with 3 deaths in order to destroy those statues.

Let's be honest, Blasphemous 2 is a good game, has nice mechanics, good history (if you understand it lol), and is more enjoyable than the first. But I like first far more than the second because it was more "underground", you didn't know what you were gonna play when you first opened the game, and the dark history you were told made more impact, add the music, the desolation you saw from the miracle, by far more bizarre and evil. It is a tedious game when it comes to certain things, but that makes it more enjoyable for me at least.

@@anguineus_vir Disagree, some of the gameplay choices in B2 are extremely questionable, like Acolyte/Charging Knell enemies being relentless and pinning you into corners, extreme challenge rooms, some of them harder than most bosses (for me at least), instakill bugs (Happened to me 3 times in Radamés bossfight). All of this has been adressed in a patch yesterday though, so it'll probably be fine

same , blasphemous 2 is one kf the most fun metroidvania i ever played. but blasphemous 1 is just unique. there is straight up nothing like it. its atmosphere , OST , lore, story presentation, combat with its uniqur rulesets , the macabre/grotesque/othwerwordly designs of NPC and bosses, everything feels like an holy abomination. not to mention everyhting about this game feels so intense in flavour. i hated first time i played it , but i fell in love immediately when i tried it next time with bit of opem mindedness. i adore the first game. you just have to accept that his movement is weighty with actula inertia. sure your character is not agile, but he has high mobility once u get comfortable with the controls, he becomes an absolute relentless dps machine even with melee only meanwhile, the second game is most fun i ever had in any metrpidvania gameplaywise, with ruega al alba aka lraying blade you can absolutely style on the enemies like dmc or some sh^t lmao. as a sequel blasphemous2 has sever issues, but as a standalone game it is one of the best metroidvamia ever in gameplay/movement/level design/sound design aspects

Blasphemous 2 is a much more casual game. This one is much more precise in controls and not as forgiving as well as cheap. It also doesn’t hold your hand as far as traversing the map so markers are essential. Blasphemous 2 is easier but it’s a more polished game. The controls in 2 are a lot more fair as far as precision and the game is more forgiving of your errors. Asmongold is a stubborn, insane (tries the same thing over and over expecting different results) and at times boastful guy but if there is a good quality he shows over and over in his insanity is how hard our minds can work and the feeling we get once our perseverance pays off.

You can literally just push the analog stick down and press attack like you would a hollow Knight Pogo and it's way more reliable than using the Dodge button like the game tells you. I never understood that because the game doesn't say that anywhere in the tutorial and using the Dodge plus attack doesn't even work half the time

The only logical explanation of this game is that its a post apocalyptic world amd people are heavily radiated and plasma charged which cause hallucinations mutations and madness . Another theory is that its the same as i mentioned before but the thoughts of people are monitored by a voice to the gead tech by the gov and its all an experience .

asmon only puts his camera on the left side pretty much always and he has fought his chat on this topic many times. He says that since people reading english read from left to right its better for his content if he also positions his camera the same way because he is the focus of his streams/content. His reasoning anyway
