Not a single child-like character in Genshin, they don't take up the majority, are lewd in some way in the game. Only people like you would be so fixated on child-like characters to the point of believing that they're being sexualized somehow just because Genshin fans sexualized a lot of characters in Genshin. Like, If I'm straight, I ain't gonna fk dudes somehow. Same goes to players wanting to lewd mature characters over undeveloped ones. I went into Genshin completely blind a few months ago. I didn't even know it was a gacha game or even what genre it was. I was pleasantly surprised at how polished it was. The mechanics are pretty deep, the world is gorgeous, the combat is smooth and satisfying. Exploration, while it can get repetitive, is kept fresh by unique combat encounters, the puzzle design and the world itself. I didn't care much for the story. This MC power fantasy isn't really my thing, but I can see the appeal. It's a genuinely great game on every level. Sucks that it's a gacha, but I do find F2P enjoyable enough.
@sephroth201

I genuinely don't understand why yall are so pressed about gacha when it's not even complete random, you're sure you'll get the character you want if you saved up enough - literally just a matter of good timing and saving skills, all you "gamble" for is how much of your resources will be left after you finally get the char. Just always save up for the worst case scenario and you're fine. But it's the very thing that allows them to earn that much money to invest back into the game
@alesthra
@alesthra Жыл бұрын
MC isn't even most important thing in game. Everything in genshin is part of lore. Books, hangouts, character stories, events, side quests,weapon and artifact descriptions,item descriptions, enemy descriptions, even architecture tells the story. Not, just main archon quest. Even if you don't like main quest, there's lot of other things to explore and learn about world. Oh and let's not forget that upon leveling friendship level of characters you learn their story, their voice lines reveal their relation to other characters. Still, archon quest is fun. Finding sibling or being strongest is secondary objective in it. In first city you deal with dragon, in latest fighting corrupt scholars. Still as I said, there's lots of lore even outside archon quest/main quest.

I attempted to play other games ever since i started Genshin in its launch week, but failed every time cause i only want to go back to Genshin lol. I also had to chuckle when he said mainly kids play this game. While there definitely is a large number of young people, in personal experience, most players i encounter are in their 20s. Genshin probably just has this reputation cause of its social media presence and that’s often where the teens are. Like, as a working-class adult i’m not gonna spend the little free time i have engaging in online drama over a video game i enjoy and it’s likely the same for countless other adult players lol.

As someone who's played Genshin a LOT: Hard whaling is utterly pointless. You CAN spend thousands of dollars on maxing out every upgrade on a single character, but there's no point whatsoever in doing so. There's no PVP, no ranking system, one single end game activity that you can clear completely F2P no problem, none of the storylines or exploration is locked behind a paywall and the game overall is rather easy and chill. Personally, I buy the $5 de-facto subscription (gives you some premium currency every day you log in for the next 30 days) and that's it. This puts me back $60 a year, and considering I play hundreds of hours, if not over a thousand a year, I consider that a good value for my money.

I was at first a skeptic, but i played Genshin on day 1 it was released. It had a bit of a rocky start. Stellar, yes, but there were bumps here and there. There were times that I thought of quitting cause it had gacha, and i know a lot of people hate that mechanic. But the more updates it got, the better it got. People weren't comparing it to BOTW anymore. Some may still say it is cause lets be honest, the inspiration is there. But now you can truly see Genshin is a game of its own. And unlike other gacha games, you can really see where your money is going. Not that I was ever a big spender (i only get the monthly welkin which is just around 5 dollars). You see improvements in the game, you see amazing animations, amazing cutscenes, they even hired musicians that were specific for the inspiration of each region. They hired traditional Japanese musicians for Inazuma and did the same for Sumeru. And it was amazing. jump to the present, and yes, I'm still playing Genshin. And looking forward to Fontaine.

@@AndresLionheart They constently bait you with these characters that you can't have unless you pay. I would not say a bad thing if you could just buy these characters outright, the devs deserve to earn a paycheck. But gacha in its essence preys upon the pszchologically vulnerable with their undisclosed gambling rates and they will happily bleed you dry if you let them. Of course this is not only Genshin, but Genshin is the biggest and most popular game in this genre of gambling, and out of principle alone, I can not tolerate this. Just because you can "technically" play for free does not excuse championing this predatory trash in every online space you permeate. Every person you recommend the game to runs a risk of bankrupting themselves should they run victim to Mihoyo's manipulation. A wolf clad in sheep's wool is still a wolf.
@AyakoHideko
@AyakoHideko Жыл бұрын
@@AndresLionheart Yes! Thank you for explaining this! I'm so sick of ppl complaining that the only way players could get characters is to "buy" them, which is very much just false for a lot of the player base since most of us play Genshin and approach the gacha system with a budgeting mindset. (Even though I can also see where these people are coming from) People who could afford to "buy" those characters *will* buy those characters. I have a lot of well off friends who could afford to do that, and there are those who simply could not afford to wait and budget like we do for characters (like streamers who CAN drop the money for the characters as a business expense). Yet it's important to point out that they're not the majority here. Literally in my friend group of around 10 people I know who play the game, only 1 of them is someone who constantly drops money for characters, and 1 who would infrequently spend depending on how much they want it, otherwise he budgets and spends minimally like the rest of us do. It's so ironic to me how so many people chastise Genshin's gacha system, when for me and a lot of other players, it's taught us financial discipline and responsibility if anything. The limitations and mechanics of their gacha allows people to either understand what they're going in for, or how they can get around it for what they want. And the other irony is that Genshin's gacha system is one of the ones that are more forgiving and transparent too. It just gets so much flack because the game has grown so big and mainstream that it has involuntarily become the face of "gacha games." And some of the ones with the worst rates are just laughed off now for how ridiculous they are that the mainstream haters cant even touch them due to their meme status and obscurity. As someone who loves the game for what it is, it is a bit annoying, but as someone who also hates the vitriolic mainstream community that has grown around it... Lmaooo classic Genshin L. I cant and wont speak for everyone who plays, but it has to be stated as well that not everyone here is incapable of financial responsibility. And honestly, if anything, some of us here have also adopted the mindset of learning to mind our own business as well when it comes to allowing ppl to spend their money however much they like, and to normalize checking in on your friends and interfering once you harbor concerns. It's the environment of judgement and hostility that often denies someone who is actually suffering from gambling addiction to try and reach out, so it's nice to see that this game has at least generated discussions on destigmatizing addiction in general.

Honestly as someone that plays a lot of different games Genshin is one of the best one's I've ever played constantly for over a year. It's just one of a kind. Beautiful scenery and graphics, fitting soundtracks, engaging gameplay and concepts. What kinda drove me away at the end was that it just became a grind for being able to whish for characters. If you played long enough it just got boring. I used to roam the open world a lot but after some time I just had seen it all, got a bunch of different characters and did all the quest. Also the quests and story line was tedious for me personally. You can not skip it if you only want to play for the graphics and in order to unlock regions or characters you had to sit through hours and hours of boring storyline and quests. A lot of people like it but also a lot of people don't (like me) and there was no option to avoid it. After half a year I tried playing it again but everything was just locked behind quests and as a returning player that wanted to explore new regions and gameplay it's so much time investment to get to that point which I wasn't willing to do even if this game itself is awesome. That's just my personal take and a lot of people probably see it differently

One of the best things about this game is without a doubt the banging soundtrack. You can find tons of classical musicians/producers reacting to the music and it blows their mind when they break down what goes on in the theme and song creation. It's pretty bonkers but again, that's what you can get with 100 million dollars a year. Mihoyo isn't afraid to spend the money and make it great.

Genshin Impact is beautifully made, Mondstadt land looks a lot like Breath of the Wild and it may be a bit discouraging for some people, however once you reach Liyue you see how different and beautiful the game is and the Soundtrack contributes a lot for it, Sumeru is peak design in artstyle and I am still astonished this game can run in a smartphone. However my problem with the game is about how rewarding it is, at the beginning you can get primos easily with a lot of content, once you finish it, there are not many things to do, plus of that Hoyoverse has become very lazy with the event rewards, they use to give us gliders, primos, items and even card names, nowadays the only way to get some are for buying the premium BP, an achievement section at 100% or by having a lvl 10 friendship with a character. And gliders... well... Once every region... Hope they change that soon

Genshin is a masterpiece, but it's anime so ppl will disregard it because bias.

I think genshin is genuinely the next wow in terms of longevity. The game is a framework it can be expanded upon endlessly and the art style will age wonderfully. Through that on top of fairly repeatable content for beginners to play through then entire game again and you have the keys to a game that can last decades. They obviously don’t have the advantage of it being an mmo but they do have a community and because of this also they can add much more content and are free to make broken shit
@ACoraX

you know why the game has longevity nowadays ? because people don't actually play it! If you actually take the time and invest between 20 - 30 hours per week in this game you'll find yourself in 1 and a half months in the late game where every player cries that the content is dry. Where I'm getting at is they don't want you to actually play the game but play little by little and progress slower than a snail. That way, if you don't collect chests and do commissions or abyss every single possible time and a character that you want releases you don't have any choice but to spend money or suck it up and believe me , most people that play the game like this NEVER suck it up and get over it. They almost always pull out the credit card. Morale of all of this shit that I wrote is that the most effective way to play the game (and also get every other character) in my opinion is to buy the blessing and actually play the game 30 hours a week. And also to learn some self control, that's the most important part. (Casual players will never do this btw , they rather pay for shit or cry they don't have shit bcs they don't play enough)

As someone who's played for like 18 months I love Genshin for the scenery and the music. Like Zelda, you can go almost anywhere which is fantastic. The story is padded with a lot of unnecessary, but mostly optional dialogue. All of the main story is voice acted but there are still some padded quests that are also voiced. The overarching plot is pretty great and mysterious. Some of the characters are designed really well and the new elements reinvigorate old unused characters as time goes on so you aren't left with a load of bad characters nobody plays like a lot of gacha games. For me personally though it's the ambience and atmosphere. Sometimes I visit old locations and leave the playstation on, or I listen to KZbin videos of the music in an area while I sleep on long journeys.

I don't play Genshin, but I would have to agree with what Asmon said here, Gensin has to be a masterpiece for what it is. A lot of people just don't seem to grasp the concept of what a 'masterpiece' is. Your opinion is irrelevant regarding this, mine is also irrelevant. People kept saying "meh, it's because it's a weeb waifu gatcha game", these type of comments are really stupid, do people like you realize how many "weeb waifu gacha games" are out there? right now? at this moment in time? hundreds, if not thousands, why aren't all of them masterpieces then? why is only Genshin being among one of the most played game in the world for the past 5 years? Masterpieces aren't a subjective thing. The monalisa being one of the most expensive masterpiece of all time isn't because some "expert" judge it to be a masterpiece, it's because the hype built around it and the eventually the demand for it that caused it to be valued that high that there's no other option aside from the painting being anything else other than a masterpiece.

Second, the reason she was sought after was due to her being one of the few characters that can operate as support for any element, as well as the main damage component for a team. As support, you don't necessarily need a battery character to prop up your main damage dealer, and that's on top of her passive buffs to the party. Some stuff is a little cheesy, and a few characters (namely Paimon) can be quite obnoxious, but it's a unique take on action combat and has a world and story that is definitely worth exploring. The music on it's own is absolutely top tier, but when you add all the other elements it truly makes for a pretty fantastic experience. Even if the game is not your style there is still a lot to be appreciated... namely the fact they've been able to make it so stable on so many different platforms while remaining Free to play.

The mountain is called Dragonspine, it's a place of atypical climate (Mondstadt is has unnaturally temperate for its latitude, which is commented on and explained in-game, but Dragonspine is special for unrelated reasons) and it is in fact possible to climb to the top... or even above its top. I've been there, taken the screenshots, and seen how far away I can glide from up there. That said, for a long time Dragonspine will be the most dangerous place you can easily wander into and there are multiple environmental obstacles between you and that peak that won't be quick to get past. The (international) Adventurer's Guild has a camp on a road near the base where they'll warn you about what they know of, but there are things they don't yet know as well. One element the video didn't dwell on for Inazuma's visual design is the weather. Both due to its naturally being a set of islands and for less natural reasons which will make sense in context, the weather in most parts is extremely volatile compared to the rest of the world. Populated regions still tend to stay dry enough to avoid the need to show water running down all those hard surfaces and forming little streams and pools, but elsewhere it ranges from "clear and sunny to making you glad you're not really there in under half a minute" to just perpetually terrifying. Oh, the bit about "Ganyu's ass" - like the rest of Max0r's video, it's about thirty percent accurate. A monster did choke to death trying to eat her, but it wasn't due to her ass... and most importantly, she wasn't in a humanoid form at the time (as you could guess from the horns, she's among the host of the less-than-mortals who back in the terrifying old days united under the god of Geo to stablize the land enough for human civilization to develop in that region; these days most of the "adepti" who constantly interact with humans choose to pass to varying degrees for convenience's sake). All that said, she's still a bit sensitive about her weight. Technically there are in fact characters who qualify as "big, hairy muscle-y men", but none have names we know or are likely to be playable soon outside of the context of an in-universe collectible card game. And the story there's a bit sad.

Genshin Impact is truly a masterpiece of a game. The soundtrack is beautiful, the visuals are clean, the mechanics and combat are really good. There's not much to hate about the game, you can even play completely without spending a single dollar in the game, just like Enviosity(a streamer) or Mtashed, who doesn't pay for anything in the game but are up to date with the characters, because they just play a fuck ton.

Her banner sold fine. Its just that this game has a specific few characters that will always make a banner a top seller. Its why almost every top selling banner is either that character, or that character getting a rerun. Yae just didnt have anyone that reran with her like venti, raiden, zhongli, xiao, etc
@NaMe-zg9qs
@NaMe-zg9qs Жыл бұрын
@@Zhangjiajie425 I did say her banner sales were okay ish. But not even then for one of the most popular characters didn't make much. Ayaka and Raiden over double during their single banners and not double. Also it arguable that on rerun less people will wish since cons are naturally less desirable. Difference between Yae and ayaka/Raiden isn't really design etc, it's meta
@Zhangjiajie425
@Zhangjiajie425 Жыл бұрын
@@NaMe-zg9qs Your point on reruns is just factual false. For example, if you look at the banner sales for CN IOS (which is the only data we actually have), all the top 10 banners (aside from 1, and the ayaka banner that was super extended) feature either an archon, or hutao/xiao/ganyu release/rerun. The Liyue characters will just sell more due to them being from the area China is based around. These characters are just more popular than the rest. Im on ayaka one trick, but her banner sales were almost identical to yae mikos. People had been waiting on Ayaka since before the game even launched, and she has one of the most popular JP VAs voicing/backing her. Of course she would do better.

If Asmon plays Genshin, I will for sure tune in. I've played Genshin for over a year now and man I should've played it a lot earlier at version 1.0, the thing is, at first I was skeptical at it because of the negative status thrown at it saying it's just a blatant knock-off of BOTW, I can say at the start yes you can say it's a copy of BOTW but now it just grew on to its own style. I'm just happy I gave it a try and now loving it thoroughly. The art style is amazing, the characters and designs are superb, the gameplay that revolves around elemental reactions are great but can still be improved upon and the soundtracks are phenomenal. I can say that I'll be playing Genshin until the end of it's story.

You're right AsmonG. The game is actually amazing in it's core elements. It's got everything you would expect from a AAA title except for the actual sustainable content which is behind paywalls (with characters and the way you farm their upgrade mats) Once the game is fully done (I wonder when that is) It has the potential to be the best anime style game in existence but here we are with all the pointless grinding and content-less lives roaming around and collecting random colored orbs in every region with absolutely no aim whatsoever. Combat is pretty darn good too but there is NO motivation to make your characters stronger because there is NO ENDGAME content. I've played it for a while and really enjoyed it but there's nothing that would pull me back to it unless they have an abyss upgrade or some sort of neutralized PVP. They'd have to balance a lot of things for that, but hey how long are they just going to keep releasing characters that do similar things? We can already beat the abyss with multiple teams :/ The music in the game is so incredible though. Everyone that plays this game just WISHES it was... More.
