Ye.. I just hope they tone down on the color graphics on spells. In PoE I stopped playing cause at the end game you end up running with a group flashing multiple spells, making the screen full of colored light. Which in turn only makes invincible build an option. I was the same way then I fell in love with Poe. The skill tree was scary but little by little I learned while using guides for progression and the game just grew on me. I stopped due to family reasons hospitals passings ect but I’m hyped to come back >~< this is going to be glorious would love to see you there! Asmon watched a clean edited video of the livestream but the livestream began to lag severely fairly early on; after the cinematics they introduced the gameplay starting with the monk and the audio was playing while the video was freezing, giving us a slideshow of 1 frame per 5 seconds. They handled it with a 'Technical Difficulties' screen very quickly tho (wouldn't say longer than 30-45 seconds) and after roughly 5 minutes came back and restarted the gameplay with everything working just fine. Now I have 0 knowledge when it comes to servers and connections that come with it, so that small hiccup created an annoying scratch I can't reach that makes me hope and pray that on release, everything will run for everyone. Really want GGG to have this W ♥

So i do not think he has an issue with any of them, at least not now anyways but we all gotta give thanks to them because without them, we wouldn't have had path of exile or POE2. Once the D3 devs killed cain with some garbage butterfly lady, I knew it was the death of diablo and we had POE pick up where it left off. Let's be honest, diablo ended with D2. Remake was alright though. Just wish they'd add runes and runewords from D2 into POE2 and i would be ecstatic af. That adds in its own class of end game chase items and theres never been anything like it since D2 bc i guess people didn't like how OP they were and nobody used rares as much and stuff but they don't have to make em OP, just unique enough to be great pieces for some builds or great to throw on alts to level up but the key thing is chasing the perfect socket armor or weapon and of course high runes that are hard af to find with random chance to have great stats once socketed. I know POE is the king of crafting but I feel like it is a huge missed opportunity that could be incredible if done correctly. Idk why i went on a runeword tangent there lol my bad

If you do try out poe 1, keep in mind the campaign was made in 2012. Assets are very outdated and generally level design is not on par to GGG's today's standards. Lore and gameplay is still fun though

Like thinking the mist is the villain, but in fact he's just protecting the artifact from getting into wrong hands. Diablo cinematic might look flashy, but it's a boring ass story played over and over again.. I have one singular favorite moment in D3 "Tyrael's im justice itself" and that's about it.. Hopes high this is not the only cinematic in PoE, as they're giving you access to story by other means, via interactions with bosses and NPCs, but I'd love to see more.

I've seen tons of people struggling with basic content having a mageblood on them with 1c pieces of gear in other slots.

I'm honestly so thrilled to see the QoL changes to poe2. It looks like there's far more visual clarity than before, and the improvement to crafting to make things more deterministic (more common orbs, essence crafts (targeted regals especially), everything that ritual looks like it'll do for crafting) look *incredible.* It also looks like at least for now they've slowed the meta down some so zoom-zoom gameplay will likely come later, rather than being something you're doing as soon as you hit maps. Personally I love that because I don't want to give myself carpal tunnel just getting through white maps (or their equivalent here). Gold system for respecs too, THANK YOU GGG IF THIS MAKES RESPECCING AFFORDABLE I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!

As a casual dad poe campaign gives so much more than diablo, yes diablo is simpler but tbh that dont matter when u just go thru campaign and pick cool skills and passives, once you get to endgame then the specific builds are required but for casual gamer poe is definatley better, like think of it like this, i have time and money to invest, if i can choose a free game with more freedom it will be the best casual option. I genuinely believe poe is better for casuals than diablo. In diablo 3-4 i got bored before fully leveling a character, in poe i played 7 characters and i still have no idea wtf is going on. POE2 looks surprisingly good, but I feel like using it to dunk on D4 misunderstands the difference in target demos. Diablo 4 is a casual-friendly game that focuses on having a very fun, high-variety campaign that tells a story. Its systems are easy to engage with and min/max without using guides at all (or using brief, easy-to-understand guides). POE is a crunchy game with tons of depth to its systems and potential for theorycrafting, as well as tons of various currency and gearing routes. It's not new player friendly, at all. Even to relatively hardcore gamers it can be overwhelming. The skill tree alone is basically inscrutable unless you're following a guide. There is room for both, and just because one game doesn't cater to a certain group doesn't make it worse (or better). It's nice that there's more than one juggernaut ARPG to play out there.

Big W for what Asmon said about new players. I am old gamer and I had fair share of difficult games or niche games in my life and I really see the change lately in the communities of all sorts. When I ask questions these days there is 9 out of 10 people that are trying to explain or help in some way and 1 toxic dude with some stupid comment. And PoE is a game that really needs to help new players. One other thing to mention when Asmon was talking about money and spending it on support packs. The game director said at one point that you can just spend 30$ for early access only and you can upgrade to higher packs which I believe means price of lower pack will be deducted. I have 3k hours in POE. I'm not an expert, but I really enjoyed it. You're right. The endgame is frustratingly risky. If you get stuck and need to make a significant loadout change, you gotta grind many hours of currency to make that happen, and even then it might not fix your build. And your currency grind is determined by the map modifiers, which are also really expensive to fix if you invested in a grind that isn't even viable for the season or something. Safest thing to do in POE is pick a staple build to get to level 80 or so for early game currency, then dump all that effort into a second main character. I hope they change that. I hope the story isn't terrible if they make us do it every season too.

the ascension trials sucked in PoE. they better make them more fun. The trials in PoE are movement puzzles.. except your movement controls are circa 1995.
