I think minions also really benefited from the changes, as you can see when he fights some later bosses. Basically every class got a huge life boost too. If melee is strong this league but minions are also strong, I would probably also go with minions if I enjoyed them more. I picked RF because it is just my favorite to play. Asmon also said that he likes the afk lazy playstyle and melee is very active. Sometimes being able to play the way you want is more important than dealing the most damage or doing what is popular.

Is anyone an old poe players here? I plan to join in but I was surprise how weird the controls are. Do you always have to aim where you use your skills in the early game? Are there any tricks to move while using a skill? I constantly find myself stopping to aim and fire, is there anything to fix this or is it just as it is and you just get used to it?

@@guardianofthetoasters2323 I've been paying since Essence league personally, from the sound it might be the skill you're using has a windup animation? Most projectile attacks/spells will need to be aimed to one degree or another, though more AoE can help make hitting easier. If you haven't played in a while most skills have been updated, so it might be worth trying a few different ones out and seeing what feels good to use. Faster cast/attack speed can also make skills that feel slow and clunky a bit better, but some skills are intentionally just slow to wind up. If you really don't want to aim at all I find levelling as a summoner using Summon Raging Spirits extremely chill, they pathfind and target for themselves so you just need to cast a few, run around, and repeat. RIghteous Fire can also work for left-click builds, and they've given us more tools to be able to use RF early, though I'd recommend following a guide if you want to go RF, it can get pretty finnicky.

Some spells are like channels or persistent abilities like cyclone or something, but for the most part you move and aim with your mouse. You gotta be somewhat quick with alternative movement and casting abilities so that way you move between swings or fireballs.

Rewards are pretty good. Just have to make sure you don't go overboard hiring workers. The treasury depletes pretty fast.

I started playing Path of Exile for the first time recently. I'm just freestyling a build. Reading tooltips as I encounter new items/skills But I don't quite understand why people say it's hard to understand? What's so hard? Maybe I'm still too early in the game (I'm lvl 31 atm), but I'm 3 tapping almost every boss so far. I feel like the conception of the game being hard to understand holds of more players than the actual game mechanics being "hard".

L take on Spell Suppression. If Spell Suppression didn't exist the right side of the talent tree is basically dead since the only good defensive options would be on the left side of the tree. They would need to add more block options to the Shadow/Ranger area for Spells if you wanted to do away with Spell Suppression since Shadow/Ranger attack builds have effectively no access to spell block. Duelists would be hurting as well. They would need to significantly overhaul how elemental spell damage works to remove spell suppression since you can get one shot even at 90% resistances with good defenses.

The entire skilltree is the same tree for every build. So to give u an overview its kinda easy to understand, its split by the 3 attributes, Intelligence North, Strength Southwest, Dexterity Southeast, everything between 2 attributes is a 50/50, so for example the Duelist is between Marauder (Strength) and Ranger(Dexterity) so u will find nodes which provides Armour and Evasion rating, which are the defenses for strength and dexterity. U will also find some Bow stuff and some melee stuff around the duelist starting area. So the skill tree has an intrinsic logic system in terms of where specific things are located. Marauder(Strength) Templar( Str, Int)| Witch (Int)| Shadow (Int Dex)| Ranger (Dex)| Duelist(Dex, Str)->(Marauder again)

Even if it isn't strongest the point of these games is experimentation. The game might feel overwhelming but honestly for me at least part of the fun. I started poe 3 times and gave up over a period of time. Then when I felt ready to dedicate a lot of time to it I started only playing it. It's really awesome if you have the time but a lot of people don't or they get overwhelmed. I didn't use build guides for the first year and a half and spent a lot of time just watching other popular poe players as well as watching and reading tutorials. You will hit walls but you will get around them if you just try different things or if you're like everyone else just do build guides. I still hate using them but it will teach you to an extent.

PoE has been in the best state it ever has been for years. Game hasn't been this fun since 2019 when they nerfed melee into the floor and made levelling through the campaign painful for everyone who doesn't intimately understand the game. 40% of the playerbase left because melee has sucked for the better part of half a decade. Game is actually back to where it was again. The New League is casual fun, nothing exciting to write home about... *but* the big part is what offers, unique modifiers from the forge, currency exchange, the black market (which is extremely useful for levelling) and for the very first time, retainers!. It is a very casual friendly league and a very noob friendly league; Also all these changes meant we saw a new world record for 1 to end game, someone who started at launch reached end game after only 4 hours!

It's propably a bit too much to ask at this point, but It would have been really cool if GGG added WASD movement as secondary option to first game aswell. This however would most likely require some additional changes to certain skill gems. I have really enjoyed PoE over multiple leagues and I think current movement system is one of the game's biggest weak points.

I don't really, farm stupid events that opens up mines to mine ore, use that ore in base to send a ship for random items, which you also can get if you just focussed on farming and rushing forward instead of wasting time in the "Garrison", same shit for everything in there, farming, mining, blacksmithing, all comes down to ship mats for random items, all that effort for some random items, instead of just playing and finding even MORE items than the shipping does.. Like wth GGG and fanbase acting blind or something. Other league mechanics were faster to do, click on totem, clear mobs, get items. Now they want you to build a garrison which is useless and not fun, to send ships for random items? Fck off, boring league, quit at 68 day 1 and not playing again till PoE 2, big blablabla in their announcement and trailers, but ingame its the same ol boring shit in a different coat, and y'all don't see that. Diablo 4 had more changes last season than PoE did.
