As a chauffeur who's worked as a driver for a rich person for a while, it's true, liability reasons. Also they don't dress to impress or care to impress anyone at all. They care about 1 thing their money can buy them. Comfort. If you see a rich person being driven around in a luxurious mercedes. It's not because that car is half a mil. It's because that thing is comfortable as hell, you can go full speed over speed bumps and hardly notice it. Stretched vehicles are comfortable to drive aswell, just a bit annoying to do tight corners with, but it's really comfortable even as the driver. Also, never talk to them about money onless you are rich yourself, because they'll assume you want something from them. Just never bring it up, buy your own lunch/drinks when waiting, just never ask for anything (except your promised salary) and you just might get random bonus' and tips. Same for famous people, don't talk about their fame, job or social status, just don't. If it still is a topic of frequent conversation, the person is usually not very likable/nice. If they never bring it up, it's probably a relief to them that you don't either. That's how my poor ass keeps getting reinvited to rockstar parties anyway

The other problem with the supercar influencer thing, is that there are a few but rare cases of someone getting a Lambo, making content, end up blowing up with millions of followers and then they actually become really rich. Stradman comes to mind. But the followers believe they can one day do the same, that's why you got people leasing Lambo's. They end up going broke trying to portray the same thing but don't realize the success of someone like Stradman requires luck, timing, and an actual personality.

People who can save substantial amounts of Money already do. Poor families are WAYYY better at budgeting than middle class families. They simply dont earn enough. If one household earns 2000 Dollar a month, they can barely save 100 Dollar a month which amounts to 1200 Dollar a year. So you may think "cool, Just keep going :) " but ONE broken TV, ONE broken washing machine or ONE broken PC and the Money is GONE so you start back at square one. A household that earns, lets say 10.000 Dollar \ month, can EASILY Budget, and open a savings Account while also investing 500 Dollar or more in an Investment Fund. Thats why all the Investment advice you see is specifically aimed to middle class and upper middle class people. Because they are the ones with the Money and the finfluencers and banks want it.

People with money have always dressed according to the times, if it was beneficial to impress and dazzle then they would, if it could get you killed then they didn't. There are kings that wouldn't have been respected had they not dressed as what the public expected them to look like same on the other hand, there were king who lived and dressed in such opulence while the public was poor that the public revolted and killed the royals. Most companies do not have the need for a private jet every day of the year there usually isn’t daily jet trips unless your dealing with a billion dollar nation wide of international corporation. And private jets tend to be large investments that are hard to get your money back out of, so splitting the cost with other companies or individuals helps make the decision easier. A key word of thumb is that the rich tend to figure out ways to get other people to spend their money on making them wealthier. Most rich people can afford to just start a new business, but they’ll usually still take on business partners and get loans and such when starting the business, because they would rather risk losing someone else’s money than their own.

The craziest thing is that renting a private jet for domestic US travel isn't even that expensive. In many cases, it is a similar price to 1 first class flight seat. It isn't cheap, but if the plane can hold 5 people, it isn't that crazy to split the cost if you and your friends are doing well. I've never personally done it, but I have known people who have done it for Bachelor parties.

My home town in the Scottish highlands is surrounded by private shooting/fishing estates and the like so I've seen a whole lot of the really wealthy. One of the richest permanent residents lived in a reasonable house (just 10 bedrooms) on the edge of town, he had a cook, a cleaner and an aide. If you saw him in the street however he looked like a older guy wearing patched/scuffed clothing and being extremely amiable like a nice grandpa (unless he also went past in his rolls royce blowing his cover). The truly rich buy what they need and get the most cost effective - they seldom care about image when it comes to their day to day lives. Oh and when the town wanted to make a local museum he immediately just bought them a nice building and gave them the deeds without any expectation of being lauded, indeed he even refused to have his name on the project. The majority of the wealthy I've interacted with are quite down to earth, its the wannabees that cause all the fuss.

My wife has started to dress me in crappy old navy and macys clothes but I’ve never looked better in outfits simply because of how my body shows in these clothing types. Black/white or beige basic t-shirts and loose but not baggy pants that compliment the colors and style. Honestly, it’s not my personal style but it fits well with how I’m structured. I have grown up in a working class area here in England and moved out to a middle class area. Both sides have something in common and that is wanting to appear richer than what they really are while getting themselves in debt and not being able to afford the basic bills in their home and blaming the government (partly true) and the country for their life going down hill. The middle class might have a little bit more money but they also fall to the image of appearing rich and thinking they are closer in image to the upper class when the upper class see them just the same as the working class. For me personally if my rent is paid and the food cupboards and fridge is full as well as the gas and electric then I’m very happy and I feel rich. If I can afford to treat myself (books or a game) at the end of those bills then it’s nice but doing that every month and wasting my money always left a sour taste in my mouth. I hate wasting money. I’d rather save it towards a nice trip with me and my husband somewhere or a nice dinner together. I’ve never been into the theme of looking rich despite many in my family acting like this.

Back when I was 8, my family was poor and I rarely get toys for present, even for my birthdays. But whenever I went to a birthday that my childhood friends had, I remember that they would have these amazing action figures that you can see on the cable channels they had at home. One day, kids from a far away block were teasing me about having "poor people toys" but my friends jumped in and acted like they were returning their expensive toys to me and thanked me for "letting them borrow my toys". That immediately shut up those other kids and went on along not looking at me. After that, they always lent me their toys even after we played and I will always return them before going home. One of them even gave me one of his collectibles and said, "What do you mean? That one's yours." I deeply miss those childhood friends, man. Of course this doesn’t include paints, brushes, glue and the rest. All around, you are looking at around 650$-800$ IF YOU SAVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. If you go for the imperial guard combat patrols… you are AT LEAST above 1000$. And I’ll be honest, 2k guard patrol only army is not usable. So realistically you would buy one combat patrol and buy a kill team/sauad or two, and complement the rest with tanks, artillery, a menticore or two… and that’s gonna bring it to AT LEAST 1400$+ for a standard 2000 army. Once again. (And this isn’t you try to save money).

When I was I was growing up, because I was the youngest in a brood of six, I survived on hand me downs from my three elder brothers. The only time I get new(ish) clothes and shoes is when Christmas comes around. Were we poor. No. My mom and dad were just practical people. They prioritized paying off our house and maintaining the small business we have. Because I grew up in rural Buffalo, we also grew our own food and didn’t rely too much on the supermarket other than the basic household supplies. My dad, who was in the navy, prioritized our education and we travelled a lot. Around the country and around the world. It kind of frustrates me as well as I often try to deprogram my boomer aged mother. "Tell me what it does, stop telling me how much it costs you. If it causes you distress price wise, it wasn't a good purchase" is what I often tell her when it comes to her purchases. Now while I myself have a leather addiction, I only buy if it fulfills 3 criteria : 1) The material is interesting, new or really nice. 2) The price is right for craftsmanship/material and there is little to no upcharge for branding and 3) I can see myself using it for a long time to come. As for how I determine the price is right? If I can immediately repair the gap in disposable income caused by my purchase within the next month, or it's around less than 3% of my total cash on hand, I consider it a justifiable purchase. I admit I don't manage to adhere to this rule 100% of the time as certain functional items like some of my boots would end up being worn a lot less than my go to choices because frankly, some purchases are just plain superior to previous purchases and I'm at the age where you thank the stars for good footwear. Hilariously, some do hate me for non-stop bragging about finding a good deal. I'll brag about how little money I managed to spend to get something I want rather than the other way around.
