Loooove this take on Gluttony! Like she says our depictions are usually so gross, but overindulgence does not equal ugly - the tastiest, most unhealthy foods (and other forms of indulgence) are often also the most aesthetically pleasing, which this design captures perfectly! 🍬🍭

I agree. The truth of the things we indulge in tend to look visually appealing. It tempts us to eat or drink more. The usual depiction of gluttony is just the effect of humans over indulging (overweight, rotten teeth, very physically gross in general). I don't think humans seeing that gross depiction will make them want to eat more. I think they may just lose their appetite. Temptation is a charmer.

@@Mizuuu1 exactly! I think the culture around weight and health is grossly undereducated. I don't think fat equals ugly. Being conscious of your lifestyle is good (as is moderation!) but people's worth isn't defined by it. It's sad to see how society devalues people based on appearance and decisions that really don't concern anybody except the person themselves.

Normally when Jen plays characters who offer you candy and what not, they are portrayed as very sweet and nice people, this is a much darker character that will do the same thing, except with a sinister purpose.

It's still sinister and murdering you, but it's hard to sin if the sin does not seem attractive. The reason that the sins are so powerful is because it's based off of human instincts and emotions. We all have our moments when we fall prey to each of these sins, whether we realize it or not because we are humans. It's hard to want to do these things if they did not seem very appealing and attractive. The seduction is all part of the package. If they cannot lure you in with pretty things, then it's going to be really hard for them to become powerful and to get humans to be under their control. Hence, temptation. Some things look pretty and good, but they're actually very bad for you. And I feel like this definitely is a whole new take that plays into the idea. Who wants to be gluttonous if food doesn't taste delicious and you can't have as much as you want? Who wants to be lazy and sloth like if it doesn't feel comforting to take a rest as long as you want? Why would people be greedy if it doesn't give you all the pretty material things that your little heart desires? That's part of being human. That's how they play into our emotions. That's how they gain control over humans. And it's fascinating to watch it all play out.

I kinda thought that Lust is the leader of the seven sins family. So I expect her to be the last one. Maybe that thought stuck with me because of Fullmetal alchemist. I expect her to be cold, scary, powerful and intimidating. Everything happens because of Envy. You get jealous and get angry, Wrath borns from that. You get tired from all of the emotions and Sloth borns. You fill your void with food and Gluttony borns. You want their stuff and Greed borns. You want their lovers and Lust borns. Only Pride seems like she has nothing to do with jealousy but it is just a fake mask.

I think Envy's going to be the most powerful. Because it's the driving force behind all the other sins. If envy wasn't always in our ear tainting our hearts, whispering look at what they have and how happy and better than you they are, then we wouldn't want to pursue lust and greed, we wouldn't feel wrath and want to one of them and feel pride, we wouldn't want to steal everything they have with gluttony and greed. Envy is that driving force that compels all the other sins to steal away into our heart. It plays off that human emotion. The first official sin outside of the garden of Eden was murder. And the motive? Envy. Envy is so powerful it makes you want to destroy everyone and everything you love with the promise that you will somehow end up on top and you will be so much happier and better than them and how miserable you are with what you have because you are not them. Envy is the driving force behind all the sins. It's what compels the hearts of men down a very dangerous path. It plays off of our humaneness, and it leaves us vulnerable to so many horrible sins and atrocities just waiting to be committed.

Which actually does make sense, because in the end it’s a persons over inflated ego and overwhelming sense of self importance that leads them to abuse the other characteristics that are the other six sins. This includes envy as it is in fact a persons sense of self importance that makes them feel as if they’re entitled to someone else’s possessions and the lack of having those possessions can lead up to jealousy and eventually envy.

The 7 Deadly Sins always remind me of the game "ObeyMe!:SWD", where the main character wakes up in a sort of hell and meets a bunch of demons who are all representations of the seven sins (and the seven pure blessings... if you get far enough in the game :))

I love this character, I love this kind of ''horror'' in general. There's just something about it, something about something being so great it's gonna kill you, the fact that anything such as childhood, the things we see as good and fun, can be so scary. That fun can get so much, it kills you. That just sends shivers down my spine. It has always been one of my biggest fears, getting fat, getting unhealthy, rotten teeth. Gladly I've never had any tooth problems, like none at all, nor have I ever been fat, or spoiled. but I am terribly scared of things such as these.
