That's why Pride is the most dangerous sin, because it makes you think everything you are, do and have is the best, you literally shut down everything outside yourself, you want everything for yourself and you become greedy, you think everyone will be attracted to you, wanting you and what you own, that you can do nothing and be still be the best. You become tired of everyone around you, you elevate yourself to the point that envy and wrath could also take over you at any moment when you see people praising or recognizing someone that's not you. All the others sins basically are a form of Pride themselves.

Based on what Pride describes as the origins of the sins and their influence, there's kind of an optimistic underlyong message that humans are *not* predisposed to sin and evil and that it's due to outside forces that those things take root. Love that Dark Wholesomeness

That is an incredible observation! In that vein, I think the depiction of Pride here is also incredibly on the mark to what it fundamentally is in practice: a sin of comparison and believing one knows best; turning it spiritual, believing that one knows & chooses better than God. Many auxiliary consequences of Pride are depicted here, too: vanity, flattery, dishonesty...basically anything that can be utilized to defend someone's own pride. Jen's understanding of it has me feeling rather "seen", for lack of a better term, since all the descriptions really fall in line with what I've been taught about this particular sin over the years. She even touched upon the nature of sin, how it's getting worse over time, and how all other sins were born out of Pride. It's interesting stuff.

Out of all the sisters so far, Sloth scares me the most. Pride is honest in her cruelty, I respect that. Greed was friendly despite her attitude, Gluttony as well despite her ulterior motives. Sloth says she finds joy in causing humans to reach a point that they just want to stop existing and wither away in their will to live. 😬

If I'd choose a color for each sin; Envy : Green (duh!) Sloth : Something soothing, blue maybe. Pride : Black really fits. Purple would also work. Wrath : I don't know, red? Lust : Crimson red. Gluttony : Orange, pink, all the sweet colors. Greed : well, gold..

I'd also propose some variant of Pangloss (not sure of a better term, it's a name from a play that some consider synonymous, the core concept is excessive optimism to the point of completely reckless carelessness).
