I hear or see a cannoli and I immediately think of my Italian flatmate when I was abroad. During my month of fasting, I’d always send him some Middle Eastern treats and dishes, and he’d send me Italian ones. One of those was homemade cannolis, and they were so good. It was also lockdown and my first time abroad and by myself, so sharing dishes with him was a special occasion ❤

Fun fact: Cannoli is already a plural word in Italian. The “i” at the end makes it plural. And it’s stuffed with ricotta or mascarpone and sugar. Sometimes vanilla extract.

I'm Italian and Sicilian cannoli are one of the best desserts that exist in Italy. We eat them almost every day! the cannoli dough must be extremely crunchy and the inside strictly made of ricotta cream. I don't know if these you're eating are really like that......🙄🙄
