The age categories for books (i.e., YA, new adult, adult) aren’t really about the age of the characters - it’s more about the content and who the book is being marketed towards! Often the age of the main characters do correlate with the age categories, but not always. Some books marketed for adults and that have adult content (violence, sex, etc.) have protagonists / main characters that are teenagers (and vice versa)

with everything going on in the world rn, it feels wrong to consume media and act like everything's good. others might say what right do you have to feel bad/sad when you've got everything you need. it's such a complicated situation. i just know my heart is hurting a lot and i can't seem to shut off my emotions and thoughts. thank you for bringing me some relaxation and allowing me to rest my mind for a bit.

It's always so fun to hear your perspective on the books you read and extra fun when the book in question is something I read already. The housmaid for example, which I read in August last year, is an absolute favorite of mine and it was so fun to hear your opinions. Our takes are definitely different (which is fine) but I can see where you're coming from. Great video, as per usual💗

Hi haley, i was wondering how do u manage to read so many books in one month? And how do you not get bored and drop the book? I’m definitely asking for advice on how to finish books as much as possible.

Currently reading the atlas six, so far I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. The characters seem to be completely different from one another, and while some of them are not very likeable, it makes up for an engaging read ( so far at least)

Kind of gutted I’m not enjoying Check Mate that much 😫 I really enjoyed Ali Hazelwoods first few books but really struggling as not really much plot and feels like the characters barely interact for long periods and I’m like 3/4 through! Gonna give Acts of Desperation a read 😊

Haley girl, do you have any tips on how to get motivated to read? I have tons of books, I buy tons of books, I watch all the book content. But then when it comes to actually reading, I just don’t. I’m not sure if it’s the adhd or what ‘cause the intent is always there initially 😪

I def think that Frieda McFadden’s books are more plot-centric instead of focusing on character development I read Never Lie before reading The Housemaid and it was a lot better in my opinion! It’s still plot heavy but I genuinely did notttttt see the twist coming. I had the same exact reaction to The Housemaid so I totally think you’d enjoy Never Lie more!

Re: YA / NA distinguishing - I’m no expert either so take my opinion with a grain of salt but, for me, the difference in the two comes down to thematic elements versus ages. When I was a teenager I quite enjoyed reading about people in the next phase of life, but probably wouldn’t have been allowed to read things that some NA books include. Someone being 19-20+ in a book written for a YA audience is probably a calculated choice because teens almost always just wish they were a little bit older
