For me, the first time I discovered asmr was the absolute best experience I've had with it and it's all been iffy since then. Even that same video doesn't really work anymore. :(

Isla Drummond I think experiencing ASMR is largely down to your psychological susceptibility to it. That is to say that you have to kind of provoke them by focusing your mind on getting the tingles. I have watched many ASMR videos that never made me tingle - then when I came across this one, I was immediately hit with huge bouts of tingles (ones that resonated right down to the tip of my toes from the top of my spine). When I went back to those previous videos that never made me tingle (even the slightest), knowing what it feels like and knowing the triggers, they actually worked despite not working previously. Therefore, I conclude that how well I have tingles, or how to get tingles, is largely about focusing my mind on getting them. I am positive that one day, if I can master the art, I may be able to provoke ASMR whenever I want with just my mind. Isn't that an exciting thought? I think you may have to listen and watch ASMR videos with a new light - a new perspective if you like.
