Not covered in bleach, they are rinsed with a chlorine solution and then with plain water. This is pretty common with many vegetables.

I never thought of that! Ours needs a super deep take it apart cleaning or something, it always leaves a bunch of film. So right now my electric fry pan and something else is in there... haven't opened it in awhile. Oooh, I finally got my wire kitchen shelf rack put up complete with hooks to hang pots and pans. Carrots are washed in “Chlorine water” the amount of chlorine is less than what’s in your faucet, after that it’s rinsed in potable water where in the hell did you get bleach from. I do know there is a lot of “bullshit” on the internet about carrots. Please people do some fact checking before you jump down peoples throats like you’ve done to Mary....NOT COOL!

ok I have to say this, I LOVE the huge packs/packaging available in the usa. It is so convenient and cheap compared to the europe. :o I just love it :D (ps - I just thought about you today when I returned from tesco - and we have the queue & limits & lockdown too - but I thought about you cause I wanted 3 salmons in mustard sauce - I saw 1st packet so I automatically grabbed 3 without looking at the other 2. And seems I didn't watch enough shelf sorting/organizing asmr videos, cause guess what - one of the packets was salmon in tomato sauce D: and yup I only realized at home ..
