So, this is how I learned it (might be wrong) Quadrat --> Rectangle with four equal sides Viereck --> Area delimited by four lines Rechteck --> A quadrilateral with four right-angled corners and two opposite sides that are parallel and of equal length And of course, there are different names for the 3 dimensional figures and the 2 dimensional shapes It sounds a lot more difficult in English 😅

A Quadrat also requires four right-angled corners. Rechteck is correct, however, it is way too complicated. four right-angled corners already enforce parallel and equal length sides.

About shapes: There's either the "native" way to describe them or one based on the Latin root word just like in English. The former is shockingly easy, just count the corners: Dreieck, Viereck, Fünfeck, Sechseck, ... Now, for three corners you have to go with Dreieck because Triangel is very unusual. However, with four Quadrat is more common than Viereck. With 5-8 both terms are arguably unusual, use what you like. Beyond 8 the -eck way of forming the words is arguably easier because it doesn't require any knowledge. Zwanzigeck, just saying.

Not gonna lie....I really like to think that YOU doing ASMR is the true Reason - like on a Subconscious Level - why I recently bought a new Set of overly expensive Top of the Line Headphones with all of them Features - despite being chronically broke - such as Spatial Audio that take your Videos to a whole new Level so I can enjoy them the Way you intended them to be enjoyed. There is something about you and the imperfect Way you speak German that is so enticing and enthralling.... captivating and mesmerizing....that I really fall for. It is those adorable Mishaps such as adding an Umlaut when there shouldn't be any or omitting it when there should be one...and so much more. Keep it coming...really looking forward to it. About shapes II: Im Deutschen einfach die Anzahl der Ecken nehmen und ein "eck" anhängen! Das ist immer richtig! (Dreieck, Viereck, Fünfeck, ...) Die Lateinamerikanischen Begriffe sind ja auch nur die Lateinischen Zahlen. ... Sechs und Sex werden im Deutschen übrigens genau gleich ausgesprochen!
