Just finished doing this study with you. And the beautiful thing about John is how he presents Jesus as divine and the similarities of his style of writing. For example, in 1 John 1:1 it says, “that which was from the beginning…” is very similar to the Gospel of John chapter 1 verse 1 which says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God..” and lastly, John was very well aware of the divine nature of Jesus and His participation in creation when Genesis chapter 1 starts with “In the beginning God created…”

I hear you reading, "man's commentary" from your study Bible about light. Indeed, they are academics, but the Holy Spirit should teach you all things. When the Bible says, God is light. It's easy for academics to differ to what it obviously is to itchy ears. I would like you to consider that it means what it says, God is light: Study the scientific knowledge about light and find that it is both a particle and a wave. Yes, in simple general terms it behaves as both. Just like God, it easily transition back and forth. Why do I put such importance on knowing this? Well, if one gets in a habit into relying on seminary and theological academians, one can eas😢be later misled. The Bible informs what its purpose, how to understand, and define it Isaiah 28:9-10, 13 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
