Cave Johnson loves ASMR Usually, you would make a comically abstract analogy as to how it would serve well, for every person to have a second set of ears.

I did the best I could to try and read what appears to be a stereogram as your avatar, but it is either too small for me to focus on or I am being a fool and it isn't a stereogram at all. I clocked on your channel to try to get a bigger view of it, and discovered your channel was filled with ASMR stuff as well, and I am grateful for this clever surprise.

Ha! :D No, it's not a stereogram (I could never do those!). The black and white static noise was something I chose because it is the way I visualise how my asmr tingles feel :)

TriggerHappy I love white noise. I read up on it semi-recently, and it stated that the reason it is so calming and meditative is that the white noise is a constant hum or even sound, similar to the hum of a fan that helps us sleep, that fills the audio spectrum of our brain activity, and thus the brain does not automatically attempt to sort and perceive what it is hearing in a logical manner- It just shuts down the audio-logical perceptive part of our brain and lets sound just HAPPEN to us, as it relaxes. It's really fascinating, and makes perfect sense.

I don't get any tingles. Had smell synesthesia with some noises and after listening to a bunch of these videos to see if got tingles I am now very conscious of the sounds around me, and they seem much louder.

ASMR HQ Have you checked all wired connections inside the mic? A loose connection somewhere would most likely be the cause.

Thanks so much Travis. I was just about to try this as I had spent most of today trying to figure out what the problem might be as both of our mics had the problem. Then for some reason, I just plugged everything back in the way I normally do and the white noise issue disappeared. I have no idea why it's suddenly working again...at least for our Rode NT1a mics. I am yet to try the 3Dio yet but I am hoping they will work. Otherwise I will be trying your trick.
