Based on these selections I would definitely be a charter member of the Mauve book club. As ever you prove to be a font of great recommendations. Some I have read and others I will definitely have to check out (though I do hesitate a little to add to the already mountainous list of books I need to get to!). I thought the Handmaiden was probably Park Chan-wook 's masterpiece so reading the book it was based on is definitely a tempting proposition. :) I'm a fan of Sacks as well. The man who mistook his wife for a hat is a personal favourite.

Ah I thought that plot sounded like The Handmaiden! Must read. Saw the film of Never Let Me Go too, bleak as hell but I loved it. Best I've ever read: the Regeneration trilogy by Pat Barker, about WWI soldiers who 'break down.' Great film adaptation too.

Scratchbook The Handmaiden is literally the film adaptation of Fingersmith lol it’s just set in Korea instead of England because the producer is Korean
