GURL you were a tween nerd TOO! though I still buy comic books aha (if I had a relation who owned a comic bk store I would be abusing that nephew privilege, just sayin... 👀 - sandman and maus are classics (but man, maus is fecking hard to read at some points. such an excellent medium for daggering home the horrors of the holocaust - & you're so right, it IS heartfelt, the father-son relationship just makes it more real and more devastating) another "classic" is v for vendetta, have you read it - or seen the film? I'd recommend both! what fiction do you like to read? and do you enjoy studio ghibli? these are the important questions. I was so happy to see a new video! clicked on it straight after work 😅 honestly, your voice is so relaxing, I haven't felt chill like it in a long time so thank you, thank you! (also your earrings were excellent in this video👏👏👏)

Duuuuude i feel like i'm on the brink of starting to buy comic books/graphic novels again 😅 been reading Saga and Sandman digitally recently and they're so good it makes me want physical copies SO MUCH, so i'm on the hunt for nice ones at the moment - there will absolutely be a video about them if i find them 😄 I have not read V for Vendetta and i feel like i've seen parts of the movie playing in the background but never actually watched the whole thing. I'll definitely add both to my list though! I do be loving me some Alan Moore. For fiction I generally read a lot of old stuff haha. discovering Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Virginia Woolf and James Joyce from my grandparents' collection when i was in uni really rejuvenated my love of reading and I'm still riding that "classics" wave years later - there are just so many filling up my reading list that i feel like i'll never get to any contemporary stuff 😂 my faves are probably Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and To The Lighthouse by Woolf. Also really into the more philosophical fictional novels from Camus and Sartre! What kind of fiction are you into? LOVE studio ghibli!!! Whenever i'm in a movie-watching mood but don't know what to watch I always go to studio ghibli and i'm never disappointed 😁 I've mostly seen their fantasy stuff - Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Cat Returns, Ponyo etc. but I actually watched Ocean Waves recently and loved it so much even though it's way more lowkey/realistic than those others. Also their soundtracks are my go-to work music lol. I'm assuming you're a ghibli-lover as well? Thank youuuu for the wonderful comment 🥰🥰

@@oobeldinkASMR aah saga is very good! I got into it a while way back but never finished. LOW is a similar super awesome comic I'd recc (very beautiful art & colouring, & the world building is genius). ahhh you're a canon reader, eh?? haha, yes Mary Shelley and Oscar Wilde are brilliant. Wilde is probably one of my most fav humans to have existed lol. And that's funny you say the classics reignited an interest in reading for you - that happens to me, too! Jane Austen never fails to get me reading again. I also love Mark Twain, Mervyn Peake, Dickens, Shirley Jackson etc - my fav authors are mostly "contemporary" tho (khaled hosseini, tan twan eng, claire north etc etc) I haven't read much philosophy I must confess, but I'm a huge biology nerd so I read a lot of that kinda stuff. uni tends to influence what you read, eh. and YES, I bloody love studio ghibli and hiyao miyazaki. They're some of my fav films, too - I love the soundtracks, aye, so gorgeous to listen to 😍😊

@@rushi10969 Low has been added to my reading list 📝 SAME! Wilde was so fucking cool man, one of my fav humans toooooo. I have a random copy of We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson in my bookshelf and I have no clue where it came from lol - perhaps one day when I finally get to reading it i'll join you in loving her 😄 Yep, uni is quite influential - i took a few philosophy courses as electives which led me down that path, also an english lit course got me to read Frankenstein for the first time!

@@oobeldinkASMR ahh yay! Batman & Hellboy are also old favs - & that's a great book of Jackson's, I hope you can get into it 😊 yeah eng lit kinda beefs you up on reading the classics - that's prob why I don't read so much of them now lol. tho I keep meaning to get into Virginia Woolf, I remember one of my old professors was obsessed with her 😂
