Every set of Legos we've bought for my daughter has had some spare pieces, and they're clearly spare because they include things like a second carrot for Olaf's nose and two additional hair bows when there's only one spot on one little person's head for one. You're not crazy, and I'm willing to bet you put together correctly. :)
