When I was a kid, I always watched my dad painstakingly cleaning our shoes in the boiler room. Everybody in the family was making fun of him about his pedantry, but he was right! Now, decades later, my girlfriend is making fun of me everytime I am cleaning her and my shoes, even if we only had been for a small walk. My father passed away last year. When I am cleaning shoes, I can still feel my father looking over my shoulder. Dad, I miss You!

We did not have much to start with, but I never forgot my Grandmother's words you may not be well dressed, but you can be well pressed. I made sure he was pressed and shiny when he went out that door and together we worked so hard day and night and finally ended up with 37 acres and a 5,000 square foot home. @geoffstemen36524 жыл бұрын
lillionaire The music chosen sets that mood very well
@sibr41114 жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with you. You can tell the economic class this "wearer" is from. As the elite owner of such a pair would not wear these to such a hideous condition. They would be able to afford new ones, infact have various shoes to wear, so that none get too worn . It's said that majority of people seeking status, don't realize that when buying luxury shoes, they also have to buy the lifestyle with it, that's meant for these shoes.
@lillionaire4 жыл бұрын
@@sibr4111 i think our comments have slight different tones. I didn't mean to bring down the wearer's economic status, on the contrary, i absolutely love that they bought these shoes even though it required them to spend their savings. I think over-consuming is absolute trash and i respect the owner for taking good care of their purchase, they wore the shoes as shoes, not as a flashy accessory. Things are meant for whoever is ready to pay the price and not by how much money one has in their account.
@sibr41114 жыл бұрын
@@lillionaire Well stating a fact doesn't mean bringing one's economic status down. I see now that we are on different pages. These are luxury moccasins and not meant to be worn as shoes for everyday on-foot activities. These are very worn out, seems to me that the owner didn't have much option besides this pair. I find it absurd to buy designer shoes and wear them to the ground. There's a certain lifestyle that's supposed to be purchased with these shoes.
@theredrover32172 жыл бұрын
@@sibr4111 If you mean driving shoes well yes, they are designed especially for 😆 taking long drives in the Jaguar on roads requiring incessant shifting and switching from brake to gas pedal 😆 not walkiing around. But why not, driving shoes are moccasins with great traction! The sole lugs are soft so foot doesn't slip off pedals (& up the heel so it doesn't skid on the floor) and quickly worn down but a delight to wear.

It doesn't have to be luxury brand items or originally purchased for $$$$'s. Kind people would donate something like that shown - or better. 😜 I have some vintage high end designer (hundreds not thousands new) items found at goodwill establishments affordable for ~$20 and put a lot of work into into spiffing them up. (Usually, sometimes I was just damned lucky. 😝) Needed to invest a bit more for products but my labor is free. 😁 I am sure many people think it crazy especially in this disposable society we have become but with luxury taste it's a work around tap water finances. 😆 Mind you I can't 'do' the remarkable level of restoration usually shown here. But I did fork out plenty (for me) to have a hand crafted bracelet fine watch purchased 30 yr ago (HUGE splurge) restored recently. So much loved and missed, if one could be could be found new I would have bought it. 😏 I sent it off to the shop that sold it expecting to be somewhat disappointed - would be impossible to restore to its former grandeur the state that it was in but as luck would have it they WERE willing AND able to send me back every thing I wished for. 👏👏👏👏👏 Peyote Bird!
