My baby English major heart looooves! In college we talked about JC more as a tragedy than a history, and I know other teachers taught it like that too. I’d be interested to know why though since he was a real person! I taught freshmen so our play was R&J, so I didn’t need to pay much attention to JC after graduating. 😅

I think all Shakespeare is comedy, like Dostoyevsky and chekov, black comedy. That's just my view of it. I did proofread an introduction for a new translation of the bros. K, that's in Barnes & Noble currently for a professor of literature and he gave me this impression of certain works after we spoke 6:35 though I am Richard III, as a personality type, so, my comedy is a bit different.
