I know what you mean about the donuts being like bread. I feel the same way about Paczki, which are commonly available on Fat Tuesday. I prefer regular donuts, but everyone else in the office appears to not notice they're different. I even mentioned it to someone on my team, and she didn't get it. So glad there's someone else out there who gets it! 🤣🍩🍩

I was watching a video where it was said that even though it's a US chain restaurant, the food may taste slightly different because they adjust it to the tastes of the people in that country. I would take #2 as you presented them because that would be a new style of doughnut for me. I've never seen a doughnut like that in the US.

Not really because when Krispy Kreme opened here in Egypt people were lining up for hours to get their hands on some of their donuts, people liked them way better than dunkin donuts. The Krispy Kreme donuts here taste like the ones in the U.S ( I was told so by my relatives who live there) so I guess the conclusion here is that people in Egypt do not like bready donuts and prefer actual donuts.

Could be also something due to the ingredients? Maybe in the US the use lard (pork fat) or other animal fats and in Egypt, as it’s a Muslim country, they use vegetable shortening (vegetable fat) and that’s why it’s changes the flavour/taste. Also it could depend on the oils they use to fry the donuts (sunflower oil, vegetable oil, olive oil...). What do you guys think? (E.Duane and Sara) 😊

The peanut buttery one I think was a Butterfinger donut. The difference in texture is maybe a cultural preference? Even within the US, there will be regional differences. On the donut front, I know that Krispy Creme makes donuts in the Sounth sweeter…an extra glaze of sugar. When they started opening restaurants here in WA state, they had to cut back on the sweetness.

The donuts were dry and hard because you put them in the fridge. The fridge removes all condensation and moisture. If you're going to put them in fridge, make sure to put them in a air tight container.
