This is a passage from my favorite poem “Desiderata” by Max Ehrmann. I just think it’s beautiful, and it holds a special place in my heart because it was my father’s favorite poem as well. Reading it helps me feel close to him and brings me comfort. This line especially is such a good reminder that we are all important, all worthy, and all capable of greatness. We are all unique, just as every tree and star is; we ALL have a place in this vast universe.
My father passed away from Leukemia at a very young age a very long time ago. Although I’m grown now and the hurt has subsided over the years, I often feel him guiding my way - and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share a piece of him with you.
