Master Han is a gem. I stumbled across him in a video from Butter Barbershop and loved his technique.

素晴らしい出来です! 3:20から、髪につけているのは片栗粉でしょうか? 私はそのテクニックを日本のヘアカットビデオでいくつか見ただけですが、アメリカでは見たことがありません。 とても興味深い! -- Excellent work! Starting at 3:20, is that potato starch he places on your hair? I’ve only seen that technique on a few other Japanese haircut videos, but never in the US. Very interesting!

I think it's corn starch and called Uchiko in Japanese.

감자전분가루. 과거에는 베이비 파우더를 사용했다. 저것을 바르는이유는,머리의 덜잘린부분을 쉽게 확인할수있기때문이다

I was wondering that too, but the shop may have been renovated. In the low shots behind their backs, it looks like the same glass door with the sign in front of it. But the more I watch, it seems like a different location.
